120dB dynamic capability and 250 feet transmitting distance.

With the Nady UHF-4 Guitar Wireless system you get a great value in a full-featured, single-channel UHF wireless mic system with interference-free operation in any application or locale on select UHF frequencies within separate bands 902-928 and 944-952 MHz.

The half-rack designed UHF-4 receiver features Nady's proprietary companding circuitry to give it a 120dB dynamic range for clear, natural sound, and a Tone Squelch for locking out potential interference. It also features DigiTRU Diversity for maximum range and dropout protection, full LED indicators, unbalanced and balanced outputs, and special circuitry for noiseless transmitter On/Off switching.

The wireless microphone system's included UB-4 transmitter gives you the option to chose from instrument (GT), headworn (HM), and lavalier (LT) mic operating modes, and includes an Off/Standby/On switch which allows convenient audio muting while the transmitter is in use. A status LED indicator flashes once to let you know it's on while it stays steady when your battery is going low. It has a locking 3.5mm mini-jack that provides you with a secure connection for your removable mic or instrument cable, and an easily accessible input level adjust controller for optimum sound in HM and LT modes.

The UHF-4 Guitar Wireless system also includes a 1/4" instrument cable.

    Consumer Alert:

Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device. The only "dislike" I have about the system is that the transmitter FEELS like it could break easily. It kind of makes me scared at times that someone might step on it by mistake and it will shatter. But like I said above, it has been through several impacts and is still working fine :]

Oh, also, ESPECIALLY if you are an acoustic player, probably best to invest in some rechargeable 9V's and a charger since this thing does use up battery life fairly quickly.
I'm not exactly sure what kind of "feature" a wireless system can have beside doing its job, but I like the fact that it has both a balanced xlr output and a unblanaced ts output. The sound is not different in any sense as far as I can tell, and I have had no interference problems even in the presence of wireless mics, wireless in-ear monitors, and bunch of cellphones.I have tried using the wireless both before and after effect pedals and it can handle either fairly well, though I usually just place it before effect ince the pedals won't be walking around anytime soon xD
Like I said, this thing has lasted 2 years so far and has not broken down, and I have used it at least twice a week for about a 2 hour period each time. The little circular rubber-ish cap on top of the trasmitter's antenna fell off few weeks into use, but it didn't have any impact what so ever. (It was as if that part was just there for looks....)The cable that came with the system broke after about 4 months of use, but it is easily replaceable. All you need is a 1/4 to 1/8 connection. The receiver box feels very secure and sturdy when you hold it, though the transmitter feels as if it could break any moment. I've had the transmitter dropped or ran into a door a several times though, and it has not broken.
This is where this thing shines the most.I got the system for a great deal, and even if it's at the full price, I'd buy it again. The one I own has already survived 2 years and it's definitely paid for itself in those 2 years :]

I was a bit nervous about buying a "budget" wireless unit because of the usual stereotypical poor quality. However, this unit seems great! Yes, it's made of plastic...but if you take care of it, it'll last. My body pack has already taken a few falls and is still working great. I put the receiver on top of my amp and connect it with a short patch cable. I must say, this thing sounds great! I've A/B'd it with a good quality cable and the only difference I've noticed is a bit less low-end when playing cleans, and the difference is rather subtle at that. When playing with distortion or overdrive (which I do a majority of the time), I can't notice a difference. Actually, I have fewer problems with noise and feedback when using the wireless instead of the cable. My friend tried it out with his guitar and rig and experienced the same thing. The range of this unit is awesome. Unless I'm in a very high interference area, I don't think I'll ever have signal issues. I haven't had the chance to gig with this unit yet, but I will definitely be using it for our next gig. The battery life has been pretty good, but I do recommend getting some rechargeable 9V batteries; probably cheaper in the long run.

On a side note, the metal coil at the base of the jack initially caused some noise when the cable moved. To fix this, I carefully unscrewed the jack and slid the metal coil out to the middle of the cable so it s not making contact with anything, then screwed the jack back tight. Since then the cable has been very quiet. I will probably remove the coil all together eventually, just haven t done so yet.

This is a great unit and is definitely worth the price. If you are looking for a budget wireless unit, this is definitely a very good option to consider. I have had no problems with it and plan to use it until it breaks, or until I upgrade to a higher end unit.

Comments about Nady UHF-4 Guitar Wireless System:

This unit is awesome!!! I got Ch. 11 and haven't had a single problem yet. I dropped it once, and it still works fine. I did go ahead and bought the 3 year warranty, since I read some of the reviews. ANYONE WITH TROUBLE WITH THE CLIP: SINCE IT'S A GUITAR SYSTEM, USE A RUBBER BAND TO HOLD IT ON (SEE ONE OF MY ADDED PICTURES). IF YOU WRAP THE RUBBER BAND AROUND THE UNIT AND HAVE IT GRIP THE BOTTOM OF THE CLIP, IT HOLDS THE TRANSMITTER IN PLACE VERY VERY WELL.
Public service announcement: THE PICTURED CABLE IS NOT INCLUDED!!! I have posted a picture of the top of the transmitter (since I couldn't find any on the internet) and the ends of the included cable. It is 1/4" to 3.5mm locking. The cord length is just under 4ft.
I use the unit on my acoustic guitar primarily, but it has worked with all of mine. I definitely would recommend this product to anyone looking for mid/high quality output (although it does mess with the EQ a little, the actual output is not distorted), especially for use at church. Battery life isn't great, but what do you expect?
Overall, great unit for the price. It gives you so much freedom. Great job Nady!!!

If you want a cheap system that is best suited for at home practice, this product might deliver.
I've used this at a few live gigs and was highly disapointed.
The clip came loose a few times.
          The sound quality was unreliable.
The other band members told me that I should have spent more money on a better system. They're right.

Comments about Nady UHF-4 Guitar Wireless System:

I ordered a new CH 16 and received a used model. All plastic wrappings, owner's manual and warranty card were missing and the previous owner left his own battery in the package. I consulted with customer service and aggreed to test the unit to maybe purchase at the "used" price. The cord wouldn't plug into any guitar we tried, it was defective. Returned for a new replacement. It's been 23 days since I tried to get this unit and I just received the message that confirmed my return is back at Musician's Friend. Maybe next week I'll finally have it. In all fairness, I also bought a CH 15 that performs as advertised.

Comments about Nady UHF-4 Guitar Wireless System:

Very noisy and drops out a lot. It doesn't have good range and it pops very loudly when switching channels. I read one review that said this thing has mastered the art of drop ins. While that may be an exageration I understand where the reviewer is coming from. This thing drops out a lot. I can't even use it with my Vox VT amp because the noise is unbearable. I bought a used VHF Nady wireless a long time ago and it has worked perfectly for 15 years. I've been sold on Nady ever since but my last two Nady purchases have convinced me that it's time to try something else. Would not recomend.

I've used this several times to play out, and it worked like a charm. I could walk from the stage to the other side of the bar with no loss of signal or clarity. I've played about 7 hours on one battery, and it shows no sign of quitting (I do, however, turn it off between songs and during breaks, same as if I turned my volume down).

Haven't used it yet where another band member is also wireless. But the bass and other guitar both have multiple frequency units, so I'm not anticipating a problem.

I just purchased this for my son and, he gave it a try last night. Great sound, No dropouts even at a long distance. I owned a Nady wireless several years ago it had a metal belt clip that once it got bent or sprung there was no fixing it. This unit is made of plastic and, should not have this problem. I know that plastic is not as durbale as metal but with care and good sense handling it should last a long time. Even if the clip would break there are pouches that the transmitter can be put in to either attach to your belt or guitar strap.

            probably good for vocals

Comments about Nady UHF-4 Guitar Wireless System:

Good for vocals or guitar players who use digital effects. Not so much for players who stay analog through a tube amp.
Got this for my birthday (at my request). It worked well, without any interference. However, the signal chain for my rig is 100% analog. I found that this product subtly changed my sound. The attack was harsher. Because it changed my tone, however subtly, I returned it. For vocals it would be great, especially when used with an equalizer.
            Nicely made for the price.
            Compares,well with more expensive units.

            Nady UHF-4 wireless

Comments about Nady UHF-4 Guitar Wireless System:

Overall, it is a good solid 7. It works very well for me. If it breaks, and it will, throw it away and decide on what your next purchase is. This is a throw away society you know. It will break because the plastic is just efficient enough to hold it together. I am not rough on my equipment so I hope it will last for a while. Would I purchase it again? Yes. I will change some of the design on this in hopes of keeping it together if it should accidentally drop to the floor and it will.
What features, it does what it is supposed to do. It doesn't need any more features
Again, it does what it is supposed to do, however, in a very cheap, and non quality way. You do get what you pay for but it does work well.
It is a good value but be careful with it because of the value I listed above.

            Returned after one shot

We tweaked and tweaked but could not get the sound we got on a wire. It kept distorting. We had a Lucina Keytar going through a Roland keyboard amp. Now maybe we really didn't know what we were doing, but I suspect we'll do better with a more expensive unit. We changed battery and adjusted all the volume settings and then readjusted. This was one party it didn't work for.

seems ok so far , the reason for the lower rating is the plastic case , but I'm sure that has alot to do with value. It worked flawlessly , right out of the box !
Great value , no more than the cost of a coule of good cords !
