Like the fact it is small and compact. We like that it is plug and play with no extra drivers to install. Wish it had a selectable specific 48V phantom switch, as well as a controlable Gain knob
We purchased one of these after having bad misfortune with the Blue Icicle. As far as construction, this feels sturdier than the Icicle. Both were plug and play and easily recognoized by the computer (Windows XP) and by the DAW.
As far as clarity, the Icicle, when it is working, blows this one out the water. The key to the Icicle we found was turning the Gain knob to its very lowest setting. The first Icicle we had worked for about a week, then started popping and crackling. The exchanged one from the store, started popping and crackling right out the box. So we wen to try a different brand and model.
This Nady unit would be fine if it had a Gain knob. That is the only thing it is missing. Signal goes in, but a lot of interferance. We had the same issue with the Icicle, but once the Gain knob was lowered, there was no noise at all. Crisp and clean
Built very well, Doesn't feel cheaply made compared to other similar units.
