I've had these as a beginner vinyl setup for about two months, and since then moved to digital. Over the time I used them, I didn't experience any physical problems, and I would expect that they will last a while in full use. Some problems you might have with these are that the pitch control is "just OK" (it doesn't always stick to the same speed, and needs some monitoring now and then), the slipmats generally suck (but can be upgraded for anyone with 20 bucks), and the faders on the mixer DONT SEEM very effective unless you're playing pretty loud, but when you are, they're good, and most importantly, the torque on these, especially considering they're direct drive, was a bit disappointing, so be prepared to handle your records very lightly on the tables, its very easy to get used to and isnt a major problem unless you're expecting technics quality stuff. In general, if you're a beginner looking for a nice setup to start DJing with, this is for you.

They are neat to work on if yr just fiddling around as a beginner, but once you start mixingwell, it's not that great. You constantly have tomove the pitch slider in order to beatmatch another song; even then, the beats would occasionally clash. If you are a very desperate beginning mix-DJ without much dough (which I was), get this just to practice on; but if you wanna be a scratch-DJ, stay away from this. The direct drive is not good enough to handle scratching because the motor slowly recovers after scratching. That flaw also gets in the way of letting the record go to reveal the next tune. But, there's not really that much to gripe about considering the price.

Great for beginners

By Ash-rXxNJ

from Bellevue, WA

When I bought this system I knew absolutely nothing about DJing, Mixing, or scratching. This package plus a few info dvd's was a great begining. I recomend buying this, about 10 - 20 lp's and just start playing... you'll pick up the finer points later.Like I said great for beginners, but I'm more than ready for some upgrading!

Great for beginner.

By Quyntarious

from Athens, OH

I got these about a month ago and I was very happy with them, I have had previous experience with them and I can say that for a DJ in a box system, this is an amazing deal. Direct Drive is the way to go. I can vouge for the needles not being that good, mine just went out on me and I had to order more from here. My next up grade will be a new mixer as I have been DJing for a few years prior to getting my own set. But if you are looking to get a new set up in order to learn to be a techno DJ, this is what you are looking for.

This package is awsome for a beginner but after a while you'll want to upgrade to something better. when i got mine i noticed that the needles aren't very good. they began to mess up my vynil. the mixer is a joke, so needles and mixer would probably be one of the first upgrades.

Great for Beginners

By Ink-Eyez

Pretty decent setup. Lacking in features, but it's great for the money. The needles are pretty cheapo (about $15 each), so be sure to invest into some nice ones. If you can't spend a crapload of money, invest in this setup and Serato Scratch Live.

Cool, but not good for big gigs and performances. It is a cool starter kit.

Good for the money

By Big Dan-5_3Sy

from Bawlmer, MD

It's not good if you're a professional mobile or club dj but for learning mixing with it's a great value. I've had this for a while and it's been pretty reliable, I'm getting ready to upgrade my system now.

Great for starting.....but thats about it

By Big Bad Mr. Lee

I just got this, and I really like it. The mixer is extremely basic, but there's no reason to spend more when your just starting. There's no EQ at all and no hamster switch. I really like it and think it can be resold at a great price. The turntables are really great. They have really decent torque. The 1 thing I didn't like is the S shaped tone-arm. I had to twist the cartridge 23 degrees to make it act like a straight one, thus reducing lateral forces [less skip]. the platter is really nice. This is the best starter kit out there, but be ready to upgrade alot. Cuz once you graduate from the bedroom, these wont do you any good.
