I've been DJing for 5 years now and I use this piece of equipment when I'm DJing for my fraternity's parties. It's one piece construction has held up for 3 years now. The only thing I'd have to complain about it is that it can be testy with CD-Rs, try burning them at the lowest speed time will allow you. I'm about ready to make the switch to some high end CD players, but this Numark deck got me through years of smoke filled parties (even beer spilling on it occasionally) and never quit working for anything that wasn't my own fault.

This is a pretty nice little CD player/mixer combo- Nothing fantastic, but I use a computer primarily. The mixer is the highlight for me- The computer runs right into the back with no problem, as well as a seperate aux jack on the second channel. Big selling point. And if I need it, the CD player is right there and ready to go.
This is a perfect machine for starters. You can use this to get some money then upgrade. It is very simple to use and i think anyone can use it.
Good bang for the bucks. It would be nice to have XLR mic inputs instead of the TRS phone plug and it doesn't read MP3s, but what do you want? It is compact and sounds good. I replaced a big, heavy multi-rack CD and mixer system with this small lightweight unit, saved my back and have less stuff to haul around.
Good unit for CD-G and new CD's, but will not play CDR's consistently. The automatic door close feature is a waste because if you take too long finding the next CD to play and the door closes it could jamb the door; it happened to me twice. This unit should be used for CD-G only. Plan to use another unit for CD̵s, especially CD-R̵s.
I really like this machine! It's lightweight, and easy to use. For first time users to those that have been Disc Jockeying for awhile, it's well worth the money. I would definately recommend it.
I bought this for a back-up/Ceremony music player.I used it for 1hr and it worked great. Brought it home, hooked it up to test some CDs, and Drive A failed to read. I tried burned, and factory CDs.I will return for another one because of the price and due to the fact it is for back-up only. Plus I use I-Pods from the rear RCAs so if the drive fails again at least the channel will still work. :) Buy a Denon if you're looking for a good Dual Player. I use the DN-6000 as my primary.
i bought this unit maybe almost 6mos to a year when it first came out the only thing that was out at the time was the bulky 2peice players so i bought it base on the fact not having alot to set up when doing gigs the only thing that i wish this unit has is the seamless looping feature that is on the mix-2 but, if you are a true dj you should be able to get around pretty well, also for those of us that are on a budget i would say start here you will have a lot of fun with it
I bought this little unit a little over 1 year ago. At first it was great but it just doesn't perform as well as you do. The right hand CD Player is really slow reading the discs and the play/Cue buttons are the most innacurate things I have ever used. Word to the wise...do not purchase.. its not worth it. For those starting out look into a DJ Starter package instead.
I had mine for a couple of years, got it while in the UK, done lots of large and small gigs with it and its plenty reliable and "workable". Plugs into my Crown 1000 watt amp/Behringer seakers and blasts away for hours. OK it does the odd "skip" when knocked, but has to be a heavy knock. I moved on to MP3 now and keep this for spare. This Numark CD mix 1, musta made me a few thousand bucks while I used it. If it played MP3 DVD discs, I'd have another.
This was my first dj mixer and i have had it now for 2 years. It has done me well besides a power supply problem but i had the warrenty and it was fixed. I say its good for the price because its a great machine for begginers but i wouldnt recommend it to a career DJ. But i love it for little gigs and parties.
