I've been DJing for 5 years now and I use this piece of equipment when I'm DJing for my fraternity's parties. It's one piece construction has held up for 3 years now. The only thing I'd have to complain about it is that it can be testy with CD-Rs, try burning them at the lowest speed time will allow you. I'm about ready to make the switch to some high end CD players, but this Numark deck got me through years of smoke filled parties (even beer spilling on it occasionally) and never quit working for anything that wasn't my own fault.

Decent little unit for a secondary player...

By Soundwire Entertainment

from Williamsport, PA

This is a pretty nice little CD player/mixer combo- Nothing fantastic, but I use a computer primarily. The mixer is the highlight for me- The computer runs right into the back with no problem, as well as a seperate aux jack on the second channel. Big selling point. And if I need it, the CD player is right there and ready to go.

Great Buy

By DJ Spirit & The Underground Sound

from Erath, Louisiana

When I first began to DJ I bought a CD Mix-1 because I liked the CD & Mixer combo. Later I began playing at a local teen club (theISLAND; Lafayette, LA.) where I used much more expensive equipment, but when I would mobile, I would always use my CD Mix-1. Its been thrown around and banged and scratched up in my DJ trailer and I have never had any kind of problem with it. Now I plan to buy a CD Mix-2. I would suggest this to beginner DJ's and Mobile DJ's. Its a great buy!

Real fun

By A*J*M-bcGFi

For beginners, this unit works great. The Cue and Play are not as responsive as I expected, so don't plan on using them for adding in extra beats or samples to your mix. But regular mixing, you just have to know how to work the pitch sliders (which aren't as picky as the tt1625s). One issue I have with this is volume control: some Cds play louder than others, and vinyl records thru the Phono input sound about 75% as loud as Cds. If you can't afford pro CD players and are willing to deal with what I've just mentioned, get this!

So-So

By DJ Sir-Lee

from Seattle, WA

I bought this for a back-up/Ceremony music player.I used it for 1hr and it worked great. Brought it home, hooked it up to test some CDs, and Drive A failed to read. I tried burned, and factory CDs.I will return for another one because of the price and due to the fact it is for back-up only. Plus I use I-Pods from the rear RCAs so if the drive fails again at least the channel will still work. :) Buy a Denon if you're looking for a good Dual Player. I use the DN-6000 as my primary.

Good For The Price

By caesar_t2

from Clarksville TN

This was my first dj mixer and i have had it now for 2 years. It has done me well besides a power supply problem but i had the warrenty and it was fixed. I say its good for the price because its a great machine for begginers but i wouldnt recommend it to a career DJ. But i love it for little gigs and parties.

A good spare.

By Speaker abuser.

from Placerville, CA

I had mine for a couple of years, got it while in the UK, done lots of large and small gigs with it and its plenty reliable and "workable". Plugs into my Crown 1000 watt amp/Behringer seakers and blasts away for hours. OK it does the odd "skip" when knocked, but has to be a heavy knock. I moved on to MP3 now and keep this for spare. This Numark CD mix 1, musta made me a few thousand bucks while I used it. If it played MP3 DVD discs, I'd have another.

A good basic system

By moD6E4fE0

from Silverdale, WA

Good bang for the bucks. It would be nice to have XLR mic inputs instead of the TRS phone plug and it doesn't read MP3s, but what do you want? It is compact and sounds good. I replaced a big, heavy multi-rack CD and mixer system with this small lightweight unit, saved my back and have less stuff to haul around.

Not bad/not great

By ClassicRock

from PA

Good unit for CD-G and new CD's, but will not play CDR's consistently. The automatic door close feature is a waste because if you take too long finding the next CD to play and the door closes it could jamb the door; it happened to me twice. This unit should be used for CD-G only. Plan to use another unit for CD&#821s, especially CD-R&#821s.

Dr Johnny Fever

By Dr Johnny Fever

I really like this machine! It's lightweight, and easy to use. For first time users to those that have been Disc Jockeying for awhile, it's well worth the money. I would definately recommend it.
