OVERVIEW

All the comfort to keep on mixin' through the night.

Numark’s Electrowave DJ Headphones are crafted with extreme comfort for those long, extended mixing sessions. These high-quality isolating headphones are designed for DJs, built to get you in the mix and keep you there. With their remarkably robust headband and premium, isolating ear cups, Electrowave headphones will stay comfortably in place for hours, so you perform your best.

Electrowave headphones feature 50 mm drivers in each ear cup, providing full bass that will allow you to feel the music as well as hear it. Their accurate frequency response and plush lining mean you'll be able to listen for hours without suffering from "tired ears," a weakness of other, substandard headphone designs. Glow-in-the-dark Numark logos on each side keep you looking good as the lights go low and your mix heats up.

I read many, many reviews on all different sorts of headphones as I do with anything I buy. I didn't want to spend a large amount of money this time as I already have a set of beats (waste of money) a set of cheaper pioneers and sony. I needed something that not only had a punch but good deep bass. I went to many stores to test headphones but was dissapointed with them all. I came across the numarks by chance while I was reviewing other headphones. after reading several reviews, I took a chance and ordered them. Unbelievable!! they are fantastic. the one big comment eveyone was making is that they are a bit bulky. Not for me. I only want them for dj'ing and they are excellent. they sit nicely on your head. are very snug to keep out the ambient sound and they sound amazing. they are twice as loud as my pioneers. the bass is punchy and deep so they are really nice to beat match. For not being in the general mix of all other "brand names" these headphones are fantastic

These phones look great, have nice features, feel fairly stable plus are fairly comfortable for such a physically large pair of cans. Pity they sound bad. The problem is the sound is all over the place compared to even a mediocre Sony set that cost much less. The specs claim 10 HZ to 22K Htz but Numark does not give a + or - factor. These fall off a cliff about 8K to 10K Htz, maybe by 6 dB or more. I think a response curve strip on these would look like a Six Flags roller coaster and nothing approaching a flat line or even 3dB off from 50 Htz to 12K Htz. The Numark's bass frequencies are just boom-boom-boom like a sub in the car next to you waiting at a traffic light. The bass lacks fundamental tone, but that isn't the worst of it. The upper mids are crazy hot. High frequency overtones from instruments like violins, acoustic guitars, certain percussion instruments and woodwinds are simply not there. The stacatto guitar part on "Getting Better" from "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is frankly painful to listen to on these Numark cans because of the rise in the upper mids. Another reviewer wrote these sound just like "BEATS" phones. Beats must be pretty awful headphones then. This pair of Newmark headphones will not do for me to casually listen to recordings at home, so if anyone is considering real mixing or even home recording with these things let me strongly advise against that. I don't think they are even decent DJ phones and I did commercial radio DJ work full time for 34 years. I honestly can't think of a good application for these Newmark phones and for the list price they should be dang near perfect for several applications. There are better sounding phones with a sparkly high end for a tenth of the list price of these. The specs are obviously misleading.

If you are wanting some headphones that makes listening to music fun, then try these. I purchased mine during the "stupid deal" sale. For home use, these are worth every penny. Just the right amount of punch and not too bassy. I wished it had a tad more "air" to the highs though. Very comfortable for a on-the-ear headphones.

If you are wanting a flat frequency response, accurate, and detail sounding headphones for tracking in the studio, then these are NOT it.

Comments about Numark Electrowave DJ Headphones:

I was hoping to find nice replacement headphones for my old Sonys (MDRV6) that are wearing out. But in a side by side comparison, I only needed about 30 seconds to realize these are far inferior. They look great, with the stylish blue & white design, but compared to my older phones, they are toys. I was only attracted to them because of the sale price, but I lost on that gamble and paid the shipping to return them. Save your money.

Comments about Numark Electrowave DJ Headphones:

I just got these headphones... They suck! They look cool and have a detachable cord but those are the only good features I can honestly list. They have a heavy, muddy bottom end... Way too much bass, and will ruin any mix downs. 3k and down is like a thick mud puddle.
They might be good for DJing and for those who like lots of bass in their listening experience. But if you don't like a ton of heavy, muddy bottom end and bass and you're looking for accuracy in listening, mixing, and/or recording, then DON'T get these... They'll be a waste of money! There is definitely a good reason the MSRP went down 80%.
