Numark iCDMIX 3 contains a dual-deck MP3/CD player with all of the functionality and capabilities professional DJs expect in standalone units. iCDMIX 3 plays CD, CD-R, and MP3-CD discs, so you can carry fewer discs. For performance reliability in unpredictable environments iCDMIX 3 features Numark's electronically buffered Anti-Shock skip protection.
The Numark iCDMIX 3 is the one of the first CDMIX mixers to feature an integrated Universal Dock for iPod for playing music from virtually any docking iPod. iCDMIX 3 is designed for professional use, housed in an all-metal chassis for years of rugged, reliable performance. The housing also has rack ears so you can mount it in a rack or CDMIX CASE 3 for secure transport or fixed installations. For easily locating tracks in a folder system you'll appreciate iCDMIX 3's high-contrast VFD display.
You can rapidly access points within a track using the multifunction jog/shuttle wheels. The wheels are also helpful for controlling pitch bend. You can pitch tracks up and down for easy beat matching. To help with beat matching, iCDMIX 3 automatically detects BPM and also enables you to manually tap in tempo.
In addition to standard single-track and continuous playback, iCDMIX 3 offers programmable playback so you can set up a sequence of tracks for convenient playback. You can also set cue points in real time for creative performance. iCDMIX 3 has Fader Start, which can automatically start cued-up playback when you move the crossfader.
iCDMIX 3 has a three-channel mixer section that is complete and on par with standalone mixers. It has a mic channel and a dedicated channel for the iPod, as well as replaceable crossfader and pre-fader cueing controls. For the main channels, you can switch between the onboard CD players or rear-panel RCA inputs for additional CD players, additional iPods or turntables with preamps such as TTX USB or TTi. You can cue with headphones using 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch stereo headphone outputs with level control. iCDMIX 3 has professional outputs for compatibility with virtually any system.

Just like my older unit, the 2nd door compartment becomes jammed and will not read the CD. Usually expensive to fix. I'm done with Numark.

Very simple to use very straight forward the only knock I have is that the IPod dock could b heard when the CD player is in use wish the dock had a separate channel where you can search for a song or play and listen in on a song through the iPod without interrupting the play from your cds

Playing CDs is an integral feature of this unit, so I can't give a better score until this problem is addressed. Plus, it makes me nervous about overall reliability. Disappointing, because I really love the plug and play aspect of the whole CD-Mix line, and this newer model otherwise seems like a winner.
Much like the old CD-Mix models, but adds zone output, mid-range EQ knob on individual channels, and better construction, as well as, of course, the iPod dock. It would be nice if the zone output also had an XLR output for consistent use with pro equipment, but it's a bonus. The iPod dock would be nicer if one could mix between tracks on the iPod alone, but pretty cool for integrating iPod into your rotation. Gain controls added to all channels just seem to me to make life more complicated for your average DJ, although students of gain architecture may have a different point of view.
Feels heavier, like maybe better construction than the old line, but it skips on or refuses to play on a few CDs (three in two gigs, including two factory recorded ones, not CD-Rs) that still work fine on my old CDMix 2. Since I'm still using CDs, this would have been a deal breaker if I'd known sooner. When a pro DJ pops in a song, it needs to play - it could be the bride and groom's first dance! I've gone back to said CDMix 2. I was hoping to use the new unit throughout the transition to hard disk and iPod and beyond, possibly using mp3 CDs as well; now the transition is in limbo.
Great value based on features, but not if you're planning on using CDs. I can't speak for mp3 CDs, but I'd still be nervous.

After doing some research and hearing nothing but bad reviews about the iCDMIX2. I saw several good review about the NEW iCDMIX3. I needed a mixer for rentals or a simple cocktail hour secondary set-up. This Machine is PERFECT. Everything I need ( 2 mic inputs / ipod dock / dual cd players with pitch lock and looping). I unboxed it last night - plugged it in and played with it for an hour ... WOW! I'll admit - I'm not a Numark fan, but this little console is great. Oh - did I mention XLR outputs? Good Job Numark.

I own 4 Karaoke Numark players and are all great machine BUT this iCDMIX2 is the worse , I do a solo gigs and need to get my track out quickly and this machine is not very friendly at all and it was just a NIGHTMARE for me to sit there with an audience waiting so a can retrieve a track well forget it don't buy this one, I'm stuck with it now and dont know what to do with this brand new CD player.
