The faders will bleed if they get dry. If you lube them with mineral oil or 3-in-1 multipurpose oil from the drugstore they will never ever bleed. The sound quality of this mixer is quite good. I also think it looks much better than the DMXPro with that nasty plain black and the red LEDs. The silver portions and the blue LEDs are much nicer. They also match earlier Numark gear with the original blue vacuum displays before they moved to the cheaper red ones. I have two complaints. I don't like the crossfader's gradual curve. Like the Matrix series and the 5000FX, the channels are at max volume when the crossfader is centered. I like a little dip. Supposedly you can install a CP Pro and fix this issue, though. I've done this myself yet. The other issue is that the compressor/limiter doesn't kick in until several dB past the top meter LED. So if you're mixing with the sound reaching about the 3rd from top LED the SPDIF out will be about 6-10dB below nominal. The same thing happens on the PPD9000, so this is obviously something they haven't managed to solve.

This is not for scratch or turntabilist djs. The faders really suck, straight up. The efX are decent but it really doesn't make it worth it. There isn't much of a use for them for turntabilists, and you dont have much chance to use them when the faders bleed and crack. I've gone through 6 faders in less than 4 months and im a beginner. I wish I had bought vestax or rane!

This mixer's crossfader blew within the 1st week. Has good features but I had a bad experience.

If you're rough of faders DO NOT BUY!

By Mel-d6CI9

I've picked this up because it was inexpensive. I wanted to take some abuse off my Rane at home and use this occasionally. The Optical Cross Fader lasted about a month and a half. Three months later the other faders started to go. Numark optical faders do not last and are pricey. If you're heavy into tablism, do not buy this mixer.

I Love It

By Steve-iMzFY

In my opinion this mixer is awesome, it's good for scratching & the crossfader effects do come in handy. The only bad thing is that the crossfader started to bleed like the first 2 weeks, so I opened it and cleaned it with spray and now it works wonders, cause it collected alot of dust from being in the club, the fader is awesome & the mixer sounds really great for a digital, very clear quality at a good price, It should be a tad more cheaper though

It's hot.

I've had it for 3 months now. It's the best mixer I've owned. It still works like new. It's still not the best mixer. Pretty much like most people say, I think it would be even better with a reverb or echo effect.

Its Worth It!

The mixer is pretty cool, it has great handling. The only thing that i don't like about it is that it doesn't have that echo effect.

Excellent mixer + Tips in maintaining it

By DJ Prefix

Great features. It'd be even greater if there was a reverb effect. Many people have complained that this mixer's crossfader has worn out quickly. However, do keep in mind that faders do get dirty after extended use. I simply clean mine out with cans of pressurized air (you can pick them up at any place that sells computers or electronics), and the faders work like new again. Overall, I am very satisfied with my PPD01.

Not reliable

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I, like most, had many problems with my faders. It's nice to change the slope of the faders, but it is useless with the bleeding and cracking. Also, mine started getting feedback after less than six months. I would not recommend this mixer to dj's who scratch, but if you are a mixing mixing dj than this is a pretty good product.
