This headphones have an awesome sound quality and they sound just like beats by Dre. The big differences is the price. They are way cheaper and I can buy 3 of this and won't have to worry about breaking the bank. I own a pair of Studio Dre Beats so I know how they sound. If I had found out about this headphones earlier I would have paid for three of these before I even thought about beats by Dre no joke.

I don't know if I happened to get 2 bad units, but after 1 week the right channel on the first one went. I received the replacement 2 weeks later. Sure enough, the left channel went out within a week. After the second failure I returned them for good.

I'm going to buy Denon's again. You get what you pay for.

Great Headphones, Awesome Value!

By DJ Criss Beatz

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Numark RED WAVE DJ Mixing Headphones:

These are awesome headphones. They're comfortable, flexible, and the sound quality is amazing. Out of all the headphones in the $99 range, these are the the most durable. They have metal hinges instead of plastic (unlike the other headphones around that price). You don't have to worry about snapping them.

Comments about Numark RED WAVE DJ Mixing Headphones:

I've been using these to mix a rough demo of my hard rock band. So far, things are coming out very clear! These headphones seem to have very good clarity across the frequency spectrum. My only complaint is that they can really make your ears and head ache after about three to four hours of listening, but it's good to have an excuse to take a break every once in awhile. Also, because they do fit so tight, they make excellent headphones for tracking drums. Very good price for what you get!

Comments about Numark RED WAVE DJ Mixing Headphones:

These headphones are not designed for having a comfortable 5 hour flight. They are super useful to me when DJing because of the swiveling parts. They come with a removable aux cable and the 1/4" TRS adapter. They have worked well for general listening and sound decent as well. I also use these when playing drums to muffle the sound and save my hearing a little.

Comments about Numark RED WAVE DJ Mixing Headphones:

I mainly got these to replace another pair of headphones that my son broke. I was looking a pair of headphones that looked strong and sturdy but would not hurt my wallet. Was looking at some sonys until i saw these. I will admit it was the style that won me over.

when they arrived, the first thing i noticed was they were huge. I didn't realize how big 50mm was until I saw them. Not a real problem for me, but others it might be.

The second thing i noticed was the detachable cord was long. About 9' or 10'. would be a problem if you wanted to use these to listen to your ipod while walking. Finding a shorter cable or verlco tie can fix this. However I like the long cord. It's great when I plug it into my roland v-drums and have the cable go behind me. gives me elbow room. I haven't tried them out on my bass yet, but i can tell the cord won't get in the way.

And they sound great. A little bit bassy, but not bad. I like having a little extra bass, but highs still come out clear. They isolate sound real good. I've asked my friends if they leaked sound and they said they couldn't tell. I've tested with my v-drums, ipod, and messing around with recording software and the only times I got dissappointed was by a song that was badly recorded. Nothing that i can blame on the headphones.

If you're looking a good mixing/recording headphones, don't be hesitant to give these a chance.

Comments about Numark RED WAVE DJ Mixing Headphones:

I'm not sure what the deal is but these things aren't loud enough to hear well enough while mixing in lound environments. I also own a pair of sony head phones which are much louder. I would only reccommend these to studio musicians. NOT DJS

Comments about Numark RED WAVE DJ Mixing Headphones:

This is a decent pair of phones if you're on a budget, or as a backup. They have relatively good sound, but there is a bit of a boost around 100Hz, so the bass is ever so slightly muddy, but hardly enough to be annoying.

There isn't too much sound isolation, so when you're listening to some tunes in a quiet environment, everyone around you can hear what's going on - especially when you crank it up.

If you're using these for regular headphones, they get uncomfortable after about 10 minutes because they sit more on top of your ear rather than around it.

Bottom line - These are pretty good for the money and would be a nice backup pair, but if you're going to be using these more than every once in a while for short periods of time, I'd go for something a bit nicer.

Comments about Numark RED WAVE DJ Mixing Headphones:

After seeing other reviews of these headphones I decided to give them a chance. I have only the one complaint about them and thats the non coiled cord. Other than that my battles and platoon sgt said they would prefer the red wave over Beats. You don't have to take y word for it though, plug them in and they speak for themselves. When I tart djing again I will most likely be switching between the Red Waes and my SK Pros. Well worth the money.
