Edit your files with Olympus Sonority sound editing software (included), which is compatible with PCs and MACs. The bright LCD supports and displays 3 languages (EN/FR/ES). There's up to 21 hours of recording capability with the WS-520's long-life battery. Voice Activation makes automatic starting and stopping of the recorder an extra benefit that saves time and energy.

One of the reasons I bought this model was for the rechargeable battery. But after many different attempts and searching, I concluded the rechargeable battery was defective. The usb port slides out. It seems flimsy and is floppy when it is plugged into the computer. Is fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it and the sound is good.

I record my band practices & performances with this and it does a great job. I record in "Dictation Mode". The built-in speaker won't sound good when you playback music, but with headphones, it sounds excellent. The recordings I've made with the Olympus 520 sound better than ones I made with a friends Zoom H2. It's a very good value & small enough to carry in your pocket.

Purchased this recorder and tested it at practice... I was suprised by the decent sound quality. I must admit, my expectations were not high as this cost less than half the amount of most of the other available models. Wondering if I should invest in the stereo mic attachment to help with getting higher frequency range or improving the quality further... any advice?
