Comments about OmniSistem MN-1000 Followspot:
I hope this inexpensive spot will work out fine for us. Just got it this week and it does throw a nice little circle spot in a smaller, darker venue. Not quite as pictured and described though. The photo shown is not of this product. The raised "hood" part you see behind the stand mounts does not exist on this unit. Nor do the other control knobs and switches you see in the photo. The "built in " color changing is not built in. A rather clanky gel switching device mounts onto the front of the unit via slots very similar to what is shown in the photo. The spotlight we received was satisfyingly heavy and solidly built. The heavy stand took a bit of cardboard shimming to clamp properly. A 1000w bulb was included. You have to install it yourself - and the 2 screws that open the bulb housing were difficult to remove without stripping. The actual light we received has a power switch on the back, a fan, a simple aperture control rod sticking out of the top of the light (this controls the size of your spotlight circle), and that clanky gel changer you hang off the front. That said, for the extremely cheap price we are happy.
