Get A better Mic

By 301boyz

I actually got this for recording songs, I guess this was a bad idea. It said it comes with intergrated pop filter, but that is not true. Everything but the mic is pretty good though.

ya get what ya pay for

Let's be honest folks, when it comes to microphones, you get what you pay for. I bought the On-stage MS7520 microphone pro pack last week ,and am very unsatisfied! I learned what happens when you try to cut corners. It was on sale so I tried it.The stand and cable were worth the price, but the mic is terrible. It's very tinty, and almost shuts off when singing into it loudly, and in my opinion a total waste of time, I should have known better, but since I had some things stolen from me I had to scrape together what I had. Next time I'll be "shure" to by a mic that I can depend on.

Plastic clips.

Overall great Value/Quality. So far only one problem. The plastic clips (shown in photo retaining mic cable to stand & boom) appear to be snap-on-off clips. However, I broke two in a row when I tried. The plastic is not flexible enough. You can take the stand apart at the joints, slide the clips off, thread the cable through and slide them back on, then just leave the cables coiled on the stands when you break down from a gig. Or... get a pack of cord-lox.

Great Starter, I'll explain why..

I got this setup because I needed a cheap Mic and the stand just made that a better looking deal to me. So I got it. Once I pluged it in I found that I had to sing from the right side of it. So that was interesting, and hard and annoying. But that stand is great I'll be using it for awhile.Overall get this but then get a new mic!

Gets the job done

I got the On-Stage Stands MS7520 Microphone Pro Pak about 2 years ago and I love it! It has all the basic parts to plug into any mixer and start jammin! The stand is pretty sturdy and I haven't had any problems with it collapsing. The mic is kinda cheap within the first month the screws that hold the mic part to the body when you take off the windscreen broke but I just put on a little electrical tape and it was good as new. The mic gets the job done for practicing at home or for your drummer to use for vocals. I use it with a Behringer EURORACK UB802 Mixer and a cheap little amp, I get good volume and little noise. I have a Gibson Les Paul studio and a Fender Blues JR. amp and I have no problem getting this mic above that volume even with the cheap amp it's plugged into. I even use it for recording to a computer program. The cable feels like it's cheaply made but it doesn't get kinks. All in all BUY THIS PRODUCT, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!

Good for the money

Picked up one of these as a way to get backup vocals started; didn't need to much to get going. Microphone has decent sound, but a bit bassy. Stand is pretty decent, wants to overbalance a bit when it starts getting too extended on the boom. Everything seems like it's buillt well, and should last quite a while longer. Overall, great for the money, but won't substitute for a good Shure or Sennheiser.

Good value

The stand is pretty decent, and is fully adjustable. The mic really is decent too. A pretty good deal, and a good start up pack.

Buy for the stand, pretty much

By Anonymous

A friend of mine bought this package for his home. I remember the mic needing some equalizing when put next to SM58s. It's a different sound, just so you are aware. The boom stand is the only inexpensive stand that i've ever used that I have liked! Finally a stand comes without that stupid metal bar that needs to be twisted as tight as possible, because everyone always adjusts the stand tight which strips it out. Too bad you can't buy it separate, but it's worth the purchase just so you can have a solid mic stand. Maybe one of these days the mic stand companies will take some tips from cymbal stands for drums... but until then, this has been my favorite stand i've used. i like it over the Hercules boom stands I have. Expect a low end microphone and cable that pretty much get the signal across and that's it. Expect a good quality stand. Expect to pay 25 bucks, and you'll be satisfied with your purchase.
