Comments about Peavey CS 4000 Power Amplifier:
I have to admit that this is a nice amp. I have one problem I had to return this amp to Musicians Friend four times do to a hum. The fourth one still hums except when I hook up the equalizer that cuts out most of the hum. I don't know if I'm supposed to have a equalizer hooked up to it at all times or not but it seems to work. Other than that it's a nice amp but I'd have higher expectations for Peavey.

I have been using the "Top" name brand 2000w amp to power 4 Peavey 412tvx cabinets for Bass Guitar. It was ok, but I was always pushing it hard enough to keep the fans running on high. I was also getting the peak lights to flash, and the sound just did not seem to be as clear as I thought it should be. So I switched to the Peavey CS4000. WOW! What a difference! The peak lights have yet to flash once, the fans are so quiet I have to get real close to hear them at all. The best thing is the clarity of the sound. This amp made such a difference that I think the other amp must not have much headroom, or the Peavey has a much greater percentage of headroom then the top brand. I should have known better to begin with. I have one of the first TKO amps made thatI still use practicing at home, and a TNT115 that I use for studio work. It is Peavey from now on for me. I learned a very expensive lesson. Maybe that other power amp wii do better on the PA system.
