Nice Sub

Comments about Peavey Iso Euro 218 Subwoofer:

I've had this sub for a few months using it for playing recorded music at dances and weddings. My son and I DJ and play the music. I pushed it pretty hard for a good portion of one night with a Yamaha P7000. We use Peavey SP5's for tops and drive them with another P7000. I did not have it in bridge mode for the sub and was using only half the power of the amp. It has a good clean sound. To our surprise later in the evening, the guests even asked us to turn it up they were getting addicted to the great pounding energy of the sub. One of the staff from the Hotel came into the banquet room where we were and asked us to turn it down as the guests in the rooms and other parts of the hotel were complaining of the pounding. It was great! At the end of the wedding we had many compliments from the Bride's parents and the groom's parents and many others, on how good the sound was. They said that they could still carry on a coversation and yet have the young ones satisfied with the energy that the music created. Since then I have purchased another EU 218 to double and couple the power, one to each side of the P7000. Once you have these subs it spoils you to want anything else, or to do any kind of music without them. I haven't had them that long but so far they're great.

Comments about Peavey Iso Euro 218 Subwoofer:

Just an update to my last post. The online specs on this cab is wrong. It says on the back of the cab Max 1600 watts at 4ohms. My first one died from either me pushing it too hard with my Crown 802d or I guess one of the solder connections could have come off from the vibrations. In any case it was still under warranty and I got a new one. I just keep my power down a little bit and it's been fine for the past 4mos. I would still recommend this and just make sure you're only pushing it with around 1000-1200 Watts.

Great compact sub!

Comments about Peavey Iso Euro 218 Subwoofer:

I bought one of these to run with my Crown 802D power amp. I originally bought a Yamaha S118V, but I was very unhappy with the amount of boom out of that cab. My old sound tech told me that I was probably expecting too much out of a single 18" sub. Problem is I drive a Trailblazer and have to fit the sub, 2 15" cabs and my bass rig too. The Peavey fits and sounds really good, nice and loud with plenty of bottom. Not as good as a full-sized 2-18" cab, but it's lightweight and small and there is no sub this size that puts out this much low end. I also looked at a JBL MRX518S and it was louder than the Yamaha, but not even close to the Peavey. If you need a great compact sub this is it! I only gave it a 4 on features because it is speakon connectors only. I'm just an old-school 1/4" guy myself so I have to use an adapter. BTW this is a 4 ohm speaker. So it's 1500 watts of program and 3000 watts peak at 4 ohms. I'm not afraid of blowing this subwoofer up with those kind of specs! Just buy it!
