Sounded pretty good right out of the box when I tried them at home. Will be using for the first time at a small venue in a few weeks. Hoping for the best.

Comments about Peavey PR 10 Speaker Pair:

I am a working musician, solo keyboard, guitar and vocals. As I have past age 50, I have no desire to carry heavy equipment. When I first used these speakers, I expected them to have insufficient bass response due to their size. However, once I dialed in a reasonable equalizer setting, I was quite pleased with their capability. Best of all, I can finally down size my transportation to a mid-size or even a small sedan without concern of how to move my equipment. I wish I would have made this purchase years ago! You younger musicians should listen to your elders, buy these!

Comments about Peavey PR 10 Speaker Pair:

Personally I could use a little more bass from these, but overall they sound very good. I get a lot of compliments so I guess that's what matters.

The pole mount if very shallow and worries me a bit. Also the thumb screw associated with it is incredibly hard to get to with adult hands. I replaced both thumb screws with 6" hex bolts that I can easily get to with a short socket, we'll see how that works.

Comments about Peavey PR 10 Speaker Pair:

These speakers are perfect for our youth ministry group! We use 3 and 4 part harmony with 6 people, acoustic guitars, violin, mandolin, and bass. The sound is very clear and balanced well. I was afraid by the other reviews that there would not be enough bass, but this was not the case. There's plenty of bass and to spare! Our location is a small/medium size chapel, and two of these supply ample sound.

The speakers are easy to setup and take down, and won't break your back. At 400 watts per speaker, they're a perfect compliment for my amp, which is only 120 watts per channel. This leaves me ample headroom to upgrade my amp and rig in the future.

          Very satisfied with my purchase!

Comments about Peavey PR 10 Speaker Pair:

The Peavey PR10 Speaker Pair pros far outweigh the cons. Buy the speakers individually for slightly more cost to reduce or avoid shipping costs.

The Peavey PR10s are lightweight, compact, easy set-up and breakdown for gigs. Outstanding for home studio or small PA requirements.

400/800W program/peak power handling capabilities on par with the Peavey PR12s. Two ¼" TS (tip-sleeve) jacks are sufficient for connecting a powered mixer or power amp.

Finding speaker bags, cases or covers for these speakers is more difficult. View or visit 'Gator Cases' for further information.

These speakers replaced some Peavey PR12s that were heavier in weight and bulkier for gigs. Small to medium-sized rooms accept Peavey PR10s and provide clear and well-defined sound quality. The price point of the PR10s appeals to many musicians who want good quality speakers without the weighty concerns of a larger speaker pair.

Comments about Peavey PR 10 Speaker Pair:

This pair of Peavey PR10 speakers have great sound. I'm doing small gigs from time to time. I needed some quality affordable speakers that would't take up much storage space -- these speakers are both. Connected to my Peavey XR8300 powered mixer, these PR10's sound great with both vocals and instruments. I would recommend these to anyone playing in small to medium sized venues.

Comments about Peavey PR 10 Speaker Pair:

Peavey PR 10s are great for digital pianos in both a solo environment and ensemble performance. Synths and vocals also sound wonderful through the PR 10s.

Because the frequency range of digital pianos (and synths) is so wide, the low end of the spectrum can get "boomy" if you're not careful--especially if you're using 12" or larger speakers. The PR 10s render the piano and synth sounds faithfully and beautifully without getting in the the way of the guitar or the bass.

In any mix the idea is to hear each instrument clearly and the best way for that to happen is for each instrument to live in its own frequency band. The PR 10s will actually help you, as keyboard players, to establish you own "sonic territory" when performing with a band.

You'll be pleasantly surprised and amazed at how clear and crisp and incredibly powerful these enclosures are. They are rated at 400 watts program/800 watts peak power handling and only weigh 28 lbs.
