I use a pair of these in stereo, soon to be joined with a Bose Sub, maybe. I use them for my amplification system for my keyboards. Nice broad range. B3 comes through perfect. These little guys ROCK. For the money, this has got to be one of the easiest, lightest, compactness, COST EFFECTIVENESS, best setup I have used to date!Yes I have used bigger and heavier and better. But no where nears this cost and ease of use and transportation. Great units!
I own 4 of these and I'm buying 2 more today. These Peavey PR10s are incredibly durable and they can take just about everything I throw at them. I run an 8 channel Mackey mixer through a 1000w QSC Amp and people are blown away by the crisp clear sounds I deliver. I get a surprisingly clean Thud and clear vocals. I run Karaoke and DJ shows but I also have used these speakers for some of my Live Band performances. They are perfect for small to medium venues but I've also used them in large venues and outside many times. I don't believe there's a better speaker value anywhere close to these tough little Peaveys.
It really doesn't exist, at least not for the kind of money a weekend warrior club musician can afford. Instead, you try to find the best one for the particular application. In this case, it for my singing drummer. With 270 watts powering a 10" speaker and a 1.4 " horn, you get a lot of beef. It has the typical Peavey mid-range weirdness that has to be EQed out, but you get used to that (30-band EQ helps a lot); sitting just 4 feet away , this little guy pretty much delivers a superior product. I wouldn't use it out front, where it would be more like 5 to 7 feet away, but for this application, it kicks nicely!
