I?m resubmitting a review here, as many years later, I?m far more experienced since I wrote the first one.First off, the drivers in these subs are exactly the same as the woofers in the PR15 main speakers, so those using them together are wasting their money and effort hauling them both out. Pairing them up with the PR12s might make a better combination, but imo, you may as well just get the PR15s and be done. I also own the Peavey PV118 subs, which are a huge step up from the PR subs soundwise, but of course they?re larger and heavier. Also, it appears Peavey is using the same cab housing for these subs as their PR15 mains, the vent being where the horn would be, and the pole mount on the bottom, which is nonsensical for a sub. What I did was flip them over, putting the little rubber feet on the other end and flipping the grill over so the vent is at the bottom and the pole socket on the top, so I could mount mains on top with a pole, but only if using the PR12s or other light mains, for stability reasons.

We've been using a pair of these for about ten years now---never a performance problem and they were not babied (the grill badges/logos will not last long). At the time they cost less than they do now but the bang-4-buck factor is still way up there. We usually just daisychain these subs from our JBL EON or EV SX speakers. We've used them indoors and outdoors with great success. Like the rest of the PR series, slightly larger than they need be BUT ridiculously lightweight. 1/4-inch I/O only---no SpeakOn connectors. I wish they were black. Like I said---ten years and counting.

Comments about Peavey PR Subwoofer:
I got two of these a few years ago. They sounded pretty good and are light. I didn't use these very many times and one blew after the warranty is out. I opened it up, pretty cheap looking speaker, not the same as in the full range cabinets. I didn't get my moneys worth.

good value
I'm buying my second. Have been using for 6 years. You can daisy chain these subwoofers to the 12 or 15 inch non-powered speakers. They add a good punch, and not heavy to move around.
The only drawback is that they don't stack up with the 12 or 15 inches speakers. I would have loved to find a way to use the mounting screws, so i can create a tower.
There may be some rack accessories out there, but i can't ceems to be able to find on the web.
8 ohms in paralell full range
Will recommend buying it anytime

Great product overall.
Hey...DJ Tommy Gunnz here from Pennsylvania. I've been a DJ for since 1997. I hope my review helps!!
I recently purchased these subs to add some punch to my DJ/Karaoke shows & they work great. I'm pairing them up with my (2) Yamaha BR15's... basically piggy backing them... also using a Yamaha P7000S Power Amp. They're nice to have at smaller venues [50-150 people] but I have used this set up for weddings [300-500 people]. The price is great & they're fairly easy to transport. Obviously they don't hammer like my PV118's, but they work great. I only rated them a 9 because they're not 18 inch subs. I use those at my stationary gigs because they are more difficult to transport in my Chevy Trailblazer with other equipment.
So far, so good. I don't abuse them or red line my levels.
Great product for a decent price.

I almost can not believe how nice this small, light, subwoofer kicks butt. Saving my back, also.

Comments about Peavey PR Subwoofer:
I have two of these PR subs, but the ad says 300w program and that's untrue because the neo's are 400w program and 800w peak. They also are not 42lbs, more like 32lbs. I also have the pr15's, which I use for mid/hi packs xovered @ 120 hz with a QSC G5 for powering them. The G5 puts 350w apiece into each cab and I must say these cabs kick especially with the tops xovered 120hz DJ-ing or a bluses/classic rock band for up to 200 people. Bands are all mic-ed up but you have to know your limits with them as with anything else.
Comments about Peavey PR Subwoofer:
I bought 2 subs and 2 115's as a matching set, yes they do sound great !! But I have had a number of problems with them, I took them back to the music store about four times, the drivers went one time , the cross overs went out twice and the subs went out. Yes they have fixed them every time at no cost to me, the service at the music store where I bought them has also been very good. But when your system goes out during a show it's tuff to beleive in that product.I have been a DJ since 1973 all my equipment matches up nothing is over loaded.Has any one else had these problems with the 115's and the PR Subwoofer 15's ?The sound they produce is great, "when they work".
Comments about Peavey PR Subwoofer:
I purchased 2 Peavey PR15 speakers, 1 Peavey PRSub and a Peavey Stereo crossover and they work GREAT together. The seperation of Highs sent to the PR15s and Bass to the PRSub are really good. I would recommend this combination to any one.
Comments about Peavey PR Subwoofer:
I have the PR15s, and these Subs to go with them. I find them to be a great match.I have more expensive/heavier speakers, but for the last couple years, I tend to grab the PRs, as most of what I do is on the smaller side, like 100 people or less. I would not sacrifice good sound for weight, but there isn't much of a compromise here. My back thanks me everytime I use these, and the price makes the deal even better. I highly recommend these to go with the PR15s, and especially 12" Mains.
