Iv'e used one of these for 5 years no problem.Reliable worked great FOH on a medium Sound System,Never failed.

Decided to get one for my personal Sound System to use on Monitor or FOH,Every set up is different.
Problem was on the first one a slider/Pot would not slide up or down completely.
Used once , my 45 days grace period was up MFs return policy (I noticed this defect too late).Had to send to Peavey for a replacement.

In no way is this the fault of Musician's friend.
So I pay Shipping/Insurance to send the defective unit to Peavey, wait a month for my replacement unit,The replacement unit from Peavey was not double boxed.

I open it and have to rub off the strange skid looking marks off the top of the chassis,No damage to the faders or knobs.
I notice movement inside, find out 3 screws were not secureing the power supply (or whatever it secured)properly so i tighten the screws problem solved.
Powered up , tested I believe it is functioning 100%
I know its cheap, not a high end unit... but where is the quality control Peavey?
As far as I can tell the unit functions as intended.
I shouldnt have to buff out strange marks on a brand new unit or tighten any screws.

Bottom line for the price this is a great unit, I had a run of bad luck? I do recommend as a good cheaper EQ If on a budget.IF quality control were better at Peavy I'de not complain at all.

I removed 1 star because of the cost of shipping to replace unit and the condition of the replacement unit I recieved.Otherwise it gets 5 stars for a low budget EQ.

Its a great low cost EQ,just make sure you check it out thoughly before your return policey expires.

I recently purchased two of these EQ's for my EQ rack. I got them in nice boxes with no damage or dents to the box. I open the first EQ and the ground lift switch is broken. I turn the first unit on and I have a massive air like sound. I'm like ok, I'll send this one back. The second unit comes out and makes the SAME noise. It can overpower the signal coming into the EQ! I work for a professional sound company that has used these cheap EQ's in the past. I am not new to sound and the way things should sound...even new. I borrowed an older model of this same EQ from my crews monitor rack. PLugged it in. SLight noise but nothing more than normal for processing equipment. I also noticed the sliders on my two new ones were much looser than that of the older model and the parts looked much more generic and cheap. I'm highly disapointed in these EQ's and are sending them back. I WILL NOT buy another product from Musiciansfriend. These eq's were on a list on many things I have recieved damaged, broken, or recieved MONTHS after I ordered them "in stock"...My opinion on this EQ... CRAP.

Added 47K to reduce brightness of super bright blue LED. Does not add noise to your system.

Worth the Price

By Anonymous

Comments about Peavey PV 215EQ Graphic Equalizer:

The unit,(PV215EQ) looks good out of the box. Sturdy and solid looking in a metal housing. The unit sounds good with no problems and has added instant punch and dynamics to my system which was previously rack amp and mixing board only. The only disappointing aspect is though quite affordable, Peavey a made in USA name has joined the ranks of most others by importing cheaply made consumer electronics sporting their logo. The price reflects that I suppose. So the life span of the unit remains to be seen compared to Peavy?s workhorse almost indestructible product lines of the past, all made in USA and still quite affordable. However, for working man musicians with limited sound equipment budgets this unit seems as good as any others in its class.

Peavey 215 EQ

Comments about Peavey PV 215EQ Graphic Equalizer:

Peavey makes some great stuff, and the only reason this was purchased was my inability to locate a used or newer Q-filtered Peavey unit. This is for a studio/home rack system and another negative about it would be it only has XLR inputs and outputs, which I overlooked when ordering, my fault, but nonetheless, I feel it should have came with 1/4" jack capability as well. This is used for a guitar rack system, and works well, it is an outstanding product, the negatives being more personal preference than function.

Comments about Peavey PV 215EQ Graphic Equalizer:

Haven't had too much chance to use it. I did run with it this past weekend for a weekend BBQ fundraiser for the Texas Firewalkers out at Bentwood (Georgetown, TX), and it did help noticeably with flattening out some boominess in the house speakers (JBL Pro series cabinets - these are theater-size cabinets), and crisping up the hi's in the vocals.
