      Comments about Peavey PV6 Mixer:

I bought this mainly for home studio use and possibly for a pre-amp for local jam sessions, etc., since I don't play much professionally anymore. I'm pretty impressed with the quality of construction compared to most of the junk that's available these days. Controls are very smooth and accurate, no dropouts, and the sound is clean enough for professional recording. I think this will deliver many years of service like my Peavey Bandit 65 guitar amp has done for me!

      Comments about Peavey PV6 Mixer:

This is a great mixer to use if you have smaller, simpler requirements. Most mixers this size only have 2 XLR ins, so this having 4 is a big plus.

I typically use this for home rehearsal as I can plug a guitar, bass, and vocals and synth/drum machine as well as an iPod or computer to jam along with. Phantom power is great to have, and this mixer sounds good. From what I can tell the preamps sound better than my old Mackie DFX12. It also works well for small acoustic gigs and saves me from having to lug my larger board!

It would be nice if it had built in effects, but I have a Nanoverb that I use for reverb etc. on the vocals and the other instruments have effects beforehand in their signal path so it's not a dealbreaker for me.

I haven't yet used it in this capacity but I could see this being a nice little mixer for someone to have doing recording on their computer as a way to set and balance instruments with a smaller, less capable, audio interface.

          • Mic'd Amp Into Looper

          Comments about Peavey PV6 Mixer:

This is an amazing little mixer. Compact and versatile. Great sound. My guitar amp is mic'd into the PV6 mixer then fed into a loop station. Because the amp is part of the mix, the sound quality is better than a direct line from my pedal board. Perfect for live or studio work. Best money I've ever spent. Thank you Musician's Friend.

            Comments about Peavey PV6 Mixer:

I bought a 'Condition 4-needs repair' Peavey PV6 mixer for half price. The mixer turned out to be a new unit, just missing the power supply. I built a 16VAC PSU from spare parts and it now works like new, because it is. To "Big Knob-ify" the PV6, I plan to mult the balanced Main outputs through a DIY switched i/o box for my 3 pairs of monitors and convert the EFX (aux) send to a balanced output.

I bought this to have a separate mix for my in ear monitor, when there aren't enough mixes to go around. I found it great for small PA when doing band rehearsals, too.

              Comments about Peavey PV6 Mixer:

I really loved this thing, I did. but it's not really a 6-channel mixer; I thought (foolishly, I guess) that when I got the mixer I would be able to use all 6 channels simultaneously. Not the case. Channels 3/4 and 4/5 (which are really just 3 and 4) are built so that if the 1/4" inputs are in use, the XLR'S are muted. Disappointing. I love this mixer though, and I will definitely be upgrading to the 14 channel Peavey mixer.

              Great Mixer

              By fenderbendr

              from Iowa Park, TX

              Comments about Peavey PV6 Mixer:

I bought this to run 4 microphones into 1 XLR input on our 14-channel powered mixer. I was worried that we would come up short on inputs. This great little mixer allowed me to "reclaim" 3 XLR channels I'd otherwise be using on mics, plus let me run vocals-only output to the monitor amp. I was still able to tweak each mic's sound on the PV6, just like on the main board! Plus, MF price-matched another site, and I got it shipped free! Awesome!!

              Amateur Radio Station and Studio

              By 4eol6nnhO

              from Heidelberg, MS

              Comments about Peavey PV6 Mixer:

I initially purchased this for my Amateur Radio station and once I seen its capabilities I also setup a Home Studio. I use it to feed the soundcard and to feed my Behringer Gear and HF radio's. For use around RF you do need a Hum Burster, but otherwise it is remarkable for the price!
