The Peavey SP 4 speaker has an ingenious design that improves low-end performance, and produces clearer sound, in the high frequency range. This quasi three-way enclosure has 2 - 15" Peavey Black Widow speakers, capable of handling up to 4000W peak power, and have field replaceable baskets for quick, easy repair. It has a much more efficient crossover, that directs low frequencies to both woofers, while limiting midrange frequencies to only the top woofer. An RX22 titanium driver that is ferrofluid cooled for maximum tweeter performance, and longevity, handles upper-mids, and high frequencies. Peavey's exclusive Quadratic Throat Waveguide technology actually reduces horn distortion, and aims sound directly at the audience, not over their heads. The aspen hardwood plywood enclosure uses extensive internal bracing that produces tighter bass response. It's finished in the durable Hammertex, and has heavy-duty handles and kick back wheels for easy transportation.

I would recommend them to all no matter what kind of music you were producing, give em a try you want regrett it.
Everything about them are great and having wheels on them surely is one of their greatest features
From their sound to the way they are built you could not ask for a better quality of equipment to work with.
Although a little exspensive they really bring out the sound in what you are trying to do.

They look great.. Sound great.. but they lack one single thing... No wheels.. The new version does not have wheels and they're not exactly light so make sure you have your dolly with you.. Or at least a buddy :) other than that they're OUTSTANDING

I own a pair of SP 4's and at first thought that they were a little much to move around. Built in Wheels are one of the best ideas Peavey came up with. I power up these speakers with a Behringer 4000 watt power amp. I have used these speakers in every format. DJ, Live, and outside. They are awsome. The secret to performance is power...these babies love power...I have found that it is easier to push rather than lift. A great buy...I bought used for just shy of what musicians friend is selling for...IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR SOUND ....GET THESE NOW !!!

These things are LOUD. Thats with a cs-800 amp... I'm planing on getting the cs-400 to smack them around. I love these, forget about the sub. We have EV 15in powered subs... The sp4 blow them out of the water. However the speakers are a little heavy on the mids... nothing an eq won't take care of. I don't like how you have to re-wire them for Bi-amp... it would have been nice for a tri 1/4 jack for bi-amp. But all in all they're great. Just two will do you large sized bar or club with a bit headroom to spare.

I was shocked to see that no one has written a review. I have owned a pair of these speakers for almost 2 years now. have used them ouside in a medium sized venue with 18 inch subs and they sound great. I'm thinking of getting 2 more for outside venues. with 4 of these you would not need subs! They handle the power and are very clean and clear sounding with punchy bass. A great value!
