Big speakers with a big sound.
The Peavey SP series loudspeakers have been a mainstay of journeyman sound reinforcement for three decades, and the SP 4BX is the latest incarnation of this ever-improving legacy. It has dual 15” woofers that are each voiced differently thanks to an efficient crossover that directs low frequencies to both woofers while limiting midrange frequencies to only the top woofer.
Engineered for optimal sound reproduction with proven reliability, Peavey SP enclosures feature patented asymmetrical Quadratic Throat Waveguide technology that helps deliver pristine, precise sound; Black Widow® loudspeakers with Kevlar-impregnated cones, 4" ribbon-wire voice coils and exclusive field-replaceable baskets; the patented Radialinear Planar Phase Correction System; and titanium compression drivers with ferrofluid cooling.
Ideal for medium-sized clubs and even outdoor performances, these enclosures can go up against a loud drummer, two guitars and a bass player on a big rig with ease. Reasonably lightweight, loud and clear, they are an excellent solution for today’s gigging bands.
Order today and cover a a lot of ground indoors or outdoors, playing any style of music.

Comments about Peavey SP 4BX 3-Way Passive PA Speaker Cabinet:
I purchased the classic Peavey SP-4s back in the early '90s & have them working along with a set of bass bins. They took a breating while I performed 6 nights a week over 20+ years. Recently I felt it was time to upgrade to these SP4Bx's because of the lighter weight, improved features, and especially the new outer coating.
My mistake was figuring these were plug-in and go. Not so. My old crossover did not work with these speakers, I was informed by Peavey support that I specifically needed the new & expensive VSX26 crossover for these to work...another $$ not expected. Then, it is a case of having too many options where not needed. Rather than plug-in and go (again), the extremely hard to use crossover lead to another call with Peavey support. Neither the manual nor their efforts really helped get things working. You have to dicker with programming the horn and mids individually. After 3 weeks of owning these speakers I have yet to simply have my band perform through them and am still struggling with trying to understand programming the crossover. Also, the crossover meant purchasing new cables.
My simple speaker purchase proved to be much more expense than I expected, and am disappointed at additional equipment needed, a fact that was not specified by this site, nor Peavey that you will need to operate them.
Not a simple setup my fellow musicians. If you want to use these for small DJ or PA usage, you can bypass the crossover issue and they sound great. For live band application, be prepared for several frustrating hours with the crossover you will have to purchase to get these speakers operating properly. Bottom line, not impressed...but they will surely rock when this is all figured out.
