I have used the same set of SP5's for 20 years, they STILL ROCK!! Love the rich sounds, others sound tinny to me, but these fill up a large or small room with beautiful music, the way its meant to be heard. Getting another set this week!! Looked for a year now at everything else and came running back to my SP5's!
Comments about Peavey SP 5 2-Way 15" Speaker:
We bought two of these to upgrade from our 2 PV 215s. These speakers rock. Great clarity and definition. Our old Peaveys were gigged for four years and never missed a beat. We expect the same from our SPs. I think Peavey speakers get overlooked by more expensive or less expensive brands. I truly believe that pound for pound you cant beat Peavey speakers for the money.

OK to start off the reason I gave these a 4.5 overall is the packaging, Come on peavey you guys have to protect things better. These are heavy speakers so there going to get dropped some on the way to a customer, you guys have to get more packing in there.. OK these ROCK I'm dasey chaining these with a pair of peavey pv115,and some old JBL's. The sound that these have is well, (sweet) the highs are crisp and clean the lows THUMP, I was going to get some subs but I thinking against it now these have lots of bass. I would tell anyone looking to get F.O.H. speakers to check these out I don't thing you can go wrong. ROCK ON

Have owned these for 18 months and they are used every weekend. I run two ps218 powered by a behringer2500 and these powered by a nady xa900 and have tons of thump and yes these are enough top for the 4 18s. I doubted it too but they sound great and I push them hard. I just upgraded to a behringer4000 on the subs and moving the 2500 to these and moving the 900 to a second rig. Great speaker !! and Peavey customer service is second to no one!
Comments about Peavey SP 5 2-Way 15" Speaker:
I've been a DJ fo over 10 years and have used SP5's (the same pair) for that time. They have done large venues and small and never let me down! The bass is more than enough and the mids & highs are great! If anyone says they need more bass with these. They're deaf! The only reasong I'm getting new ones is that after 10+ years of DJ-ing they are starting to look a little worn. Other than that these are the best speakers you'll ever own!

These are top quality speakers. I love Peavey and these speakers are just another reason for the love to grow. Solid construction, pole mount, handle anything you throw at them from inside intimate gatherings to full blown outdoor concerts. We run a Mackie CFX 20 for sound and there is nothing but sweet music coming out of these speakers. IF they ever wear out I will definitely replace them with another set.
Comments about Peavey SP 5 2-Way 15" Speaker:
I've owned a pair of SP5s for a couple of years which I use for both DJ work and live sound. These speakers have a fantastic high end, which is why I bought them. The horn design is phenomenal and gives bright, crisp high-end sound. These speakers work very well as a pair, but I add a subwoofer to get the dance-floor kick (I have a Yamaha passive 18" subwoofer). I use old-fashioned amps which I've owned forever (Peavey CS400 and CS800, the old-fashioned boat-anchor style). It's a lot of package to lug to a job, but it's worth it. The sound is just awesome.I did a wedding for 200 guests last weekend in a large hall. They wanted to dance, and I had the system cranking all night long. At the end of the night the maitre d' came up and told me that this was the best-sounding system he had heard yet in that hall. Even at top volume, you could hear everything. I just cannot say enough good things about these speakers.By the way, I also play in a garage band using these same speakers, and they definitely can handle live sound as well -- at ear-splitting volumes. I've yet to blow a driver...
