I own a DJ/Karaoke company and I bought a set of these from my local dealer...THEY ROCK! I use a PV-900 amp to power them. Crank up the volume and be amazed! Perfect for smaller to medium sized venues like small clubs or weddings.
I bought a set of these at a local peavey dealer a few years back. They sound good and are very light and easy to move around. However I had a few issues with them. First of all the cab construction itself really turned me off before they were even a year old they were showing signs of the road " And I am very careful when handeling my equipment ". The protective corners kept coming loose and eventually fell of just from normal weekly use. Shortly After that one of the woofers went bad and needed replaced. When attempting to replace it at the same local store I bought it at with the same "Scorpion" woofer that was factory with it. I was told that they stopped making the exact Peavey Scorpion replacment speaker that was originally it and now was going to replace it a "Sheffeild". Thus I had to buy two of them so I had same woofers in the cabs. After all that mess and working with these I would suggest spending a few more dollars and getting a set of subs that can handle the abuse of mobile use, If you are gonna park these somewhere and are on a tight budget these will get the job done but again they dont come highly recommended by me they are what they are "Cheap" ;)
If you want something that isn't alot of money, this is the sub to get!
I bought one of these sub's to add to my SP-2's. It has really added some low end that I much needed to my system. The band has already decided to purchase another one asap. I am running a Peavey 600 watt power mixer on my sp-2's and a line out of that to a 400 watt peavey power mixer just for the sub. So I can turn the sub up and down as I please. It rumbles, makes the kick drum and bass come alive.
I?ve had the TLS Sub?s (first issue) for a couple years now and I?m sold on these. For my Classic Rock/Country band teamed with a pair of SP5?s this system rocks. We play small venues up to 300 people (but typically smaller) and this is a perfect system for us. Great sound and not heavy to move like larger subs. I like them, you will too.
