Very nice mid through top end. However, don't expect any bass out of these cabs. You must use a sub if you're playing music with them - speech would prabably be OK. I had hoped that for small gigs, I could run them alone but, no way without a sub.
I use these cab for everything, DJ, Live sound, and media presntation. I am very suprised by their projection. Being an outdoor car show DJ i have to cover large areas with even sound. I use four of these on the "remote" speaker runs. They fill a large parking lot with no problems. I will have to say that they tend to lean toward high frequencies so a EQ is necessary. I use a PV-1500 amp on them. Good match. I now use JBL SRX cabs for bands. If i had a choice of using these on live band or DJ they are definitely DJ. They tend to distort under percusion and high SPL. Other than that they are very dependable cabs. Easy to repare. And excilent price.
My band uses 2 of these, they hold up even at gigs - they're nice.
I was VERY surprised to hear the quality of these 12" speakers. I was used to usin Peavey impulse 1015's, which are double the price, so I was expecting quite more that was I thought I would get, these were phenominal. So light weight, and easy to carry. Obviously if you are doing a church cathedral, these may not be recommended, but virtually every other application, I would not even worry. Great product Peavey!!
