Comments about Phonic Powerpod 1860 Plus Powered Mixer:

To Georgia: The effects button is not supposed to stay down. It took me a while to figure this out.(MF was of no help). When you press it it will display an indicator light that indicates that the effects are on, press it again and the light and the effects go off. Although the button looks like the others, it is different. The effects selector knob works in a similar fashion: turn it to select the effect, then press it down to "enter" it. Of course the instruction manual doesn't explain any of this. I like the mixer except I wish it had two graphic EQ's or at least not wire the graphic EQ in series with the high/med/low tone knobs. I have not yet used it at a gig yet but it looks like just what I've been looking to step up to from a box type powered mixer. 400 watts per side should be plenty of power, (if Phonic watts are as loud as Carvin watts). My current PA box amp(Carvin) allows down to 2 ohms min. per side which allows me to daisy chain 4,8-ohm speakers per side (main/monitor config) I wish the Phonic would allow me to do this: does anyone know what will happen if I hook up the Phonic this way?

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 1860 Plus Powered Mixer:

VERY NICE UNIT! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the DSP/FX built-in effects processor only produces approximately half of the indicated effects. Tried a replacement unit and had the same problem, except that the MAIN and MONO slides seemed to be wired backwards. So, kept this unit with the DSP limitations as I use a TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 for voice enhancements anyway. They rest of the gang will simply have to put up with missing chorus features on vocal reproduction.
PS: Musician's Friend tech support was absolutely superb in assisting me with technical issues and replacement efforts. And for the sale of all the equipment I purchased, THEY MADE THINGS HAPPEN and got me the exact equipment I needed in a package deal that made me a happy camper, or rather, singer.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 1860 Plus Powered Mixer:

We purchased this to replace an aging K-12 in our rec. hall. It was an easy switch over and, because the controls are similar to the K-12, no extensive retraining was required. The sound quality is excellent.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 1860 Plus Powered Mixer:

We bought this unit 7 years ago. We've been in and out every week for our church service. We meet at a hotel convention center. The unit has performed very capably even after it was dropped on concrete from the top of a load of equipment. We've have no complaints about this very portable mixer/amp.

    Great For The Price

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 1860 Plus Powered Mixer:

We purchased this mixer for small gigs where a PA system was unavailable and for our practice sessions. This is really a great mixer for the price. We've even used it for recording, having more than enough inputs for our 3 piece band. My only complaint would be that it is a bit underpowered at 8 ohms but another amp can easily be added. Great Buy!
