I got this as the power for a package with speakers here. The main reason I wanted to do this review is a response to the reviewer who bought one, then basically let is sit for months, then used it and discovered a problem. Any electronics should, IMHO, be run without stop for no less than 24 hours. I normally run anything 24-7 for at least a week. That's true whether it's a PA or a television set, solid state or tube, regardless of price tag. That will, 97 percent of the time, expose any weakness. You might want to shake it on occasion during the burn-in period. I ran mine, first checking each channel with the mike and then with a guitar, then a CD player run through the aux circuitry. It's not the finest small PA in the world, It lacks some features many would prefer. It's not built to operate in a Hummer in a war zone while running fast playing "Ride of the Valkyries" - although it just might handle that job fairly well. It's a nice and very inexpensive PA that should work well within the design parameters. I figure mine will handle about any solo gig I might do. I have the 10-inch package speakers and for a small room solo gig it should be all I'll need with a mike and guitar. Perhaps in a somewhat bigger room, bring along the small guitar amp and mess with what an audience might hear in different areas of the room.Always burn in new electronics. Always determine whether the equipment is designed to handle your likely purpose. Could I have done better? Probably, but not at the price. For a solo up to a trio doing "standards" and "soft rock/country" in a small room it's plenty. It probably would work for a rock band gig in a small room. Some 12-inch speakers may be better, I don't know. Again, it's not for an outdoor 5,000 audience gig. For what it is, I'd call it a "best buy for the buck."

Got mine and tried it over the weekend. I was very satisfied what that low-price bundle can get out of it. Unforntunately after 30 minutes, at 10% volume level with a acoustic guitar and a microphon, fun was over, Total blackout. No sound, no power light, nothing. That's why I was to give only 3 stars.
Called Musician's Friend on monday and explained the situation. They directly sent out a full replacement package and all the necessary paperwork for UPS. UPS picked it up, all in all great service. Since then it works excellent. Let's see.......
Therefore I increased one star again. If that didn't happended it would have been 5 stars, Period.

WORTH EVERY PENNY

By Raymond Risner

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 410 Powered Mixer with Mic and Speaker Cables:

If you are a very experienced singer then you might want to spend a little extra cash on a nicer mic just so you are satisfied with the way you come through the PA but other than having a fancy mic you will be fine with the way this system sounds. Very proffessional.
Being on the road a lot because of my job status, I needed a small PA to perform with my metal band. We played for 100 or more people in an outside event and this PA handled very well. It is more than capable of getting the cops called on your party that you are planning on throwing because it has happened to me. Yup, 5 cops showed up that night I remember but the good this is they stayed for the show and was pleased to hear the music and the singer that was using this PA. It has four channels which is great for micing other instruments, also you can hook up an Ipod or Iphone and listen to some music before the show or just use the PA for tunes all night. It is very loud and you can change the bass, treble and mids to allow yourself the ultimate satisfaction for the price. Go ahead spend the money I dare you. I triple dog dare you and if you have something wrong than you have bad luck and need to send it back in to get a new one because this is the ideal PA.
The quality can not get any better for the price unless they threw in 12" speakers instead of 10" and still the 10" speakers are fantastic as is.

Powerful little pod

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 410 Powered Mixer with Mic and Speaker Cables:

This replaced an old pevey speaker amp head that I have that just wasn't putting out what it use to. I needed something I could easily use in band practice and this has worked out perfect. It gets loud and doesn't break at such high volumes (the problem I was having with the pevey) Its tiny and really light weight. I don't really know how long it will last, I know phonic is a cheap name, and the mic cable is already a pos but i wasn't really expecting high quality cables with it. The mic that comes with it is not bad for a free mic. I'd definatly use it as a 3rd string but that puts it up higher than a samsung mic that I actually paid for.
Overall I think its a great buy for a starting off PA system, as long as your speakers can handle it.
There aren't a ton of features, but I dont think anyone really is looking at it for features, more for the small, lightweight, powerful little speaker amp
So far so good, no problems whatsoever but only time will tell, I've only had it for about 2 or 3 weeks with light use
I scored mine at a great price, and previously i had gotten a phonic speaker on the stupid deal of the day and the pair works great! super loud for such a great price

I don't know what happened to one of the reviews for this powerpod, but I've had one for a good 6 months and nothing has gone wrong with it. It's simple and easy and has good features included on it. This is definitely worth the money. There is a better deal that comes with a mic and 2 10 inch speakers for only $50 more.

AWESOME

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 410 Powered Mixer with Mic and Speaker Cables:

Overall, I use this in my private studio for small rehearsals were vocals are needed. I'm running 2 yamaha 15" with a 3" piezo 500watt floor monitors AND it runs them very well. My son uses it for his rock band rehearsal for vocals and it keeps up with no problem. This is a well built piece of equipment, plus you can beat it for the price. Wish I had bought this sooner.
This mixer has very simple feature, nothing complicating, Highs, and Lows an effects control and level. Very simple to operate. Use XLR connection or 1/4" jack. Plug up your mics or an acoustic electric guitar for a show. 100 watts. Loud enough for a small venue/bar/coffee house or house party. One of the best features is that you can plug in a cd player or ipod with the right connectors and have your own Karaoke session.
A+ Quality. Built small, but has a very sturdy construction, not heavy and very portable. seems well made.
Definitely worth the money. At first I was a bit unsure but after trying it out I was extremely impressed with this little thing. Bang for the buck you cant go wrong here.

Powerpod 410 Mixer

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 410 Powered Mixer with Mic and Speaker Cables:

When I consider how little the PowerPod cost me, and what it came with, I have to say this was a very good buy. Keep in mind that we are just a little family band in a small neighborhood. But I used have equipment that cost me a small fortune and this is right up there.
After jamming with my sons and wife for a while; and having several issues with feedback, cables, mics etc. I decided to buy this powered mixer kit for my wife. What an awesome little amp! By routing the mic through this amp we had almost no more feedback. There are four high and low impedance jacks, so our mics and cd player each have their own dedicated input. And we can also adjust the echo to our particular liking.
Although we really liked this amp/mixer, I would have liked just a little more control over the tonal quality. But once we started playing, you couldn't notice the difference very much. The sound overall was solid, and very clean.
I've only had this kit for a short while but, so far it's one kickin' amp! So I would definately consider another one if we keep growing.

Good Basic Powered Mixer

By basscase-yPEG1

from Sandpoint, Idaho

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 410 Powered Mixer with Mic and Speaker Cables:

I purchased the Phonic 410 Powerpod to use for band rehearsals a few weeks ago and so far I am pleasantly surprised. Great fit and finish on the assembly, well thought out simple controls, clean sound and a variable digital delay that actually works. Being able to bypass the mixer and use only the power amp (or vice versa) is a huge plus as far as utility goes, too. We've been using it for vocals only with a couple of Kustom 12" monitors and have plenty of headroom, even with a heavy handed drummer and a guitarist with a Marshall JCM 800. I've also used it as a PA for an acoustic guitar/vocal solo gig and was astounded at how good it sounded. I'm tempted to buy a couple more to use as utility/backup amps at band gigs. If your band rattles windows half a block down the street, this won't even get close, but for the average mature musician, it's an outstanding value on a very useable piece of equipment.

This mixer was a life saver!

By H. Wheeler

from Asheboro, NC

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 410 Powered Mixer with Mic and Speaker Cables:

My church has had the powerpod for quite a few months now and have been using it every week since we got it (once or twice during the week too). It's only a small setup we have there so its great to get something that does exactly what we need and wasn't outrageously expensive. Our last mixer kicked the bucket and we had to replace it quick so this was it. Glad we did. If we had more time and had considered it more we may not have gone with the powerpod (though I like the name), but I'm happy knowing we made the right choice. It's worked out well and works great with our speakers. We typically use microphones only (with the odd musical bit from a CD player) and the sound we get out of it is extremely clear, and we push the amplifier pretty hard without any problems (I'm almost sure there's more than 100 watts there).

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 410 Powered Mixer with Mic and Speaker Cables:

I was disappointed when Kustom stopped offering this type of setup. But Phonic has filled the gap nicely! Great for an acoustic set, or a small party. You won't blast people out of the room, but for an entry level priced mixer (or system, if you buy the package) it does everything it says it will, and does it reliably. The enclosed microphone is worth the price of the mixer alone! I use it for backyard and pool parties, and the occasional car show, and it's always worked flawlessly. I own three, and would buy again.
