Overall, if you're going back and forth on it just buy it. I, to this day, have no regrets about making this purchase. It does everything I want it to do and more. The only thing I wish came with it was a microphone cable, but whatever.
When I got this I was just starting a band and it makes things a whole lot easier if you have a PA system for the vocalist. And the effects on it are nothing to brag about really but I see nothing wrong with them especially for the price. If you're using this as a starter or for small gigs, this is definitely what you're looking for.
I have no complaints about the quality either. For this price the sound is incredible! I borrowed one of my friend's PA's one time and it was at least double the price but half the quality of the Power Pod's sound. It's so clear and natural sounding. I guess I have a couple complaints about the cables it comes with: The speaker cables seem kinda cheap, but hey they work and they work just fine. I haven't had my cords crap out on me yet so whatever. I actually had to replace the mic cable though because there was a disconnection in the line after about a month.
The value is great! It can do so much for such a low price.

Has everything you would think it does.
I bought and installed this into a small church. It does a great job. Our old one was cutting in and out so it had to go. This is such and upgrade. I would recomend it for anyone putting it in a small room. up to 2000 sq. ft.

    Great product.
    Wow, should be more money.

If you need an inexpensive practice or small venue house PA, this would be a great choice. It seems road worthy as well.
    Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package
I was going to give this a 9, but for the price you can't beat it.
Solid Construction. Seems like a rugged system. Cables are for crap as is the Phonic Mike. The Head Unit and Speakers are totally solid. The effects are good. The Main EQ can quickly help shape the sound for the room. And you can control FX and EQ amount by channel. Has Phantom Power and Pad button. Audio Technica Mike is a good quality freebie. Tried out my AT Transducer and Condensor Mikes and it clearly showed the quality difference.
Great price for a Solid Practice/Small Venue PA? Are you kidding???

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

For people playing in a smaller area, I reccomend this system. Great for practice, as long as not more than 4 persons have instruments plugged in, and two on mikes. We use this system for practice, and don't move it to other locations.
For the size of the system, features allow for easy connections for accessories.
Workmanship is good, sturdy, no dings or dents.
Sound quality is as good as systems costing 3 times as much.

    Home System

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

Bought this for the intent to use in my home only. This system is perfect for a home studio. Cables are low end, had to buy some quality ones. Sound and effects gives whatever your doing, Guitar, singing and or small drum kit good enough to record, which the system has the option to hook-up. Effects does what they say, 12 or so in all. Speakers have a good heavy duty box with ability to put on a stand, stand upright or lay on its side for a floor monitor angle and sound is clear. Micro phone is actually a decent product as well. Recommend this sytem for all home and or small venues depending output needs, it does the job well!
This product so far has done what i wanted it to do with out question.
Absolute Great value for everything your get. Cant find this equipment no where else for this price!

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

This PA system is a starter PA if you play in a band. If you play acoustic with just a guitar or piano, you may hang on to it a little longer. I had it for a year in my band and it was great for the price and for what we needed. But you'll grow out of it, and need to upgrade. Its powerful enough to get over the drums if you crank the volume, but you start to lose quality. You also have to adjust the EQ and Gain to avoid feedback. It's a nice PA, but if your serious about your live preformance, you might wanna bypass to higher quality.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

System works well together. Did not replaced speaker cables or microphone cable, but may have to because of feedback occurring when volume is turned up. I read all the reviews (good & bad), but this one fit my budget so I went with it. It also has phantom power which I need for the more responsive condenser microphones. The speakers do not have large magnets...so they use more power...which the Phonics 620 has. It is a tradeoff between power and speaker weight. Otherwise, it is an outstanding PA package. Even the microphone worked well. Now I need to buy stands for the speakers since they are not part of the package.

      Awesome, inexpensive PA!

      By Anonymous

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

I bought this system for my band and I to use for vocals. We're a metal/rock/whatever band that utilizes both singing and screaming. After a couple days of playing with it at my house, I took it over to practice to try with our instruments. We were very very impressed. I only had to turn the main volume to about 3/8 and the individual mic's to about 1/2 volume. We could hear the singing/screaming clearly (and loudly). The monitor showed that it wasn't anywhere near getting towards a "dangerous" level, either. We've also used it at a couple small gigs where we play at essentially practice volume level, and it works great. The only thing I don't like is that some of the knobs feel sorta cheap (who cares?) and you'll probably want to upgrade to better and longer speaker cables (given). Otherwise, this is an astounding system for the price.

I bought this for my small acoustic project to mic vocals and acoustic instruments. this thing sounds incredible and gets pleasingly loud without much in the way of speaker or horn breakup. plenty of FX options if you need them, as well as independent monitor volumes for each channel. this is as good as the Soundtech I had about 6 years ago. the entire package is lightweight and easy to transport and store. an excellent little PA

      Great package for the price!

      By AwesomeAwesomeness

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

I was apprehensive about this package, given the sale price, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. One of the features that I like is that each channel gets its own "effects volume" knob, and its own monitor volume knob. You also get a separate monitor out with a master volume. This is essential for running an in-ear monitor, but not all powered mixers have this feature. You also have a line in for the DJ-ing, and a record out which seems to use the same volume settings as the main. As other folks have noted, the cables and mic are nothing to write home about. The mic isn't the worst you'll ever use, but the cables are pretty cheap. Keep them as backups or something. The effects are very nice. You can cover some basic ideas with the 99-plus settings in that little knob. Unfortunately (according to Phonic) some of these units ship with the effects in standby so you have to use a foot pedal (or trigger the switch with a length of hacked-apart patch cable - as suggested by the Phonic website.) I have a feeling that this may be one of the reasons for the low price. The sound is very clean, but obviously the system will be too small for some applications. For small groups and small settings it will blow folks away! Incidentally, when I e-mailed Phonic about the effects getting stuck in standby mode they e-mailed me back the same day and gave me a login and password for their website. That's pretty good customer service.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

The saying "you get what you pay for" really applies here. I thought based on all the feedback that this would be a decent PA for a duo at low volumes, but its really garbage at no matter what volume. The thing distorts when you have the volume levels at 25%, and its almost useless as a practice pa. I did a few gigs with it and was really unhappy. I see that the price has been lowered even more than what I paid 1 year ago, and I can understand why. I am now going to do what I should have 1 year ago and pay the right price for a quality system, instead of trying to save a buck buying a cheap system that was probably never intended for professional musical performance.

I bought this unit for my home studio, in 2008. I have never took it gigging. First thing is you get bass fuss through the speakers on even low volumes. Next the channel 1 TRS plug quit working. Then the clip lights for the mains stopped. I would be playing and all of a sudden there would be a loud pop and then the loudest mind piercing screech would have me running for the off button. Lately it started blowing fuses and stopped working all together. What really got me upset was I tried to contact customer service at Phonic as they have no info on repair centers on their website. I never heard back so I called customer support and got a message phone. The next day a rep called me and said he would take care of it and call me back, never happened. I called and left another message that was two weeks ago. I decided to send the dumb thing to the recycling center" I replaced it with a Peavey Pvi8500 which is awesome. I made my last purchase of Phonic equipment. To bad they don't know how to take care of their customers.

As a youth pastor, our church is always holding events for our teens. This system is great! It was cheap, but with good quality. The shipping was fast. The only negative thing about the system is the mic. It is very cheap. I have to turn the main and channel gain all the way up for it to work. When using another, better quality mic, everything works the way it should.

I've waited too long to write a review about this PA system. I've been using it since 2006 and I've never once had a problem. Not once! I've been playing live for 9 years now and this is the perfect PA for anyone looking to play small to meduim size clubs or bars. It's very versitile and can stand up to most larger powered systems. I've put mine through some heavy shows ans it still sounds the next day like I just took it out of the box.

If you want to play stadiums...or even outdoor events, don't expect this system to get you there. If you don't understand the meaning of dynamics, you probably can't hear anyway and you'll need something a bit more powerful. If your amp goes up to 11, keep shopping. However, if you need a good practice system that will handle small venues if need be, this is for you. Once you factor in the price tag, this system is worth every penny. I've run an acoustic guitar, keyboards, and two vocal mics through this system at the same time and it works great. We also had a drummer, who does understand dynamics, playing with us. The room was approx 1000 sq ft with about 45-50 people in it and everything was clear as could be. If you understand this sytem's limitations, you'll appreciate it's performance and be satisfied with the purchase.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

Like the power of the amp and features, the mic is cheap, the speaker cords are cheap, the speakers have worked okay as monitors.
It is nice you can tie into a tape output, and it provides an aux output to run another amp. The effects button is hard to read.
I haven't had any problem with it. We played outdoors and they could hear us from 2 blocks in everydriection. We used 15 inch berlinger pro speakers on stands, and a different amp running the 2 phonic 10 inch monitors. Played for 6 hours, and used a cd player through it that sounded great for about 1/2 hr. Also have performed indoors with 200 people and we barely had it turned up, running the same config as above. We've also just used it running an ipod for wedding receptions and still more than enough power.
For the money, I still can't believe it works so well.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

We have been using this for 6 months. We are a 3 piece death metal band on tour and got tired of putting up with soundmen and house PA's. We bought this and couldn't be happier. We play 150 to 250 room clubs and use this all the time now. (You should see how jealous the house guy is when he hears how much better it sounds than his house rig. (subs and all). I do wish it had more channels. Right now we only get to use 1 vocal mic as we mic one guitar (mesa dual rec 4-12), run the bass and rhythm direct with pods, mic the kick and use 1 overhead on the drums. This system really thumps, the kick drum sounds awesome with a wicked punch in the chest. It is so loud with such great coverage that we do not even use monitors.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S710 PA Package:

I recently decided to do the one-man-band- thing as a hobby and went with this setup. So far I have only used it in my home studio, but it seems to be okay. It does tend to distort at higher levels, though most any system will. I do not plan on using it more anything more than performing under the carport at family get functions. I am thinking of purchasing larger speakers for the mains and using the included ones as monitors.
