If you're looking for high-quality sound at high volume, look the other way. I would recommend this for public speaking engagements and music rehearsals, but that's about it. I have owned mine for 3-years now and have not had any problems with the unit. Road worthiness is lacking, so be gentle! The 740 Plus has served me well and was very much worth the price I paid for it
The features are what you should expect from a powered mixer. The effects are pretty cool and so are the dual EQ's.
As stated earlier, the 1/4-inch jacks on the speakers are mounted on thin plastic and aren't any too strong - be care with them! The speaker cables should be replaced right away with better 14 or 12-gauge cables. I use this strictly for my stereo keyboard rig when playing with our country-swing band at rehearsals - mostly pianos. The sound quality leaves something to be desired, however, especially at higher volumes. While playing out, I use a pair of Ashly 800-watt bridged power amps connected to a Yamaha stereo mixer and 2 Carvin 15-inch 3-way loudspeakers. This set-up rocks the house and well beyond, while the Phonic, well, is best suited for practicing with the band.
For the price, it's a good bet that you'll find this Phonic package useful in several applications.

This PA sounded great and very powerful for the price. I got the extended warranty, to protect it. What a joke. I really want to write a review on the ADH Warranty. So people dont waste their time and money.

We jam once a week and after about six months, the jack input on one of the speakers popped out. I contacted ADH and they were going to send me a return postage for the speaker. In return they were going to give me about half of what it would cost to replace the speaker. The return postage never arrived though, so I ended up soldering the speaker and that worked out ok.

Then around the one year mark the PA started cutting out after 20 minutes of use. So we had to keep turning it off and waiting awile to use it again and then try it again for another 20 minutes or so. After some research seems this is a common problem with the PA. It quickly got to the point where it wasn't worth using at all and another band member got a cheap PA head to use, and we set the Phonic aside.

I decided after awile that since the Phinic sounded better and I did have this ADH warranty to try again to use the warranty. I called, and they were very nice over the phone and they agreed to fix it for me. They were supposed to send me a return shipping label, and in the meantime they gave me a confirmation code and phone number to call the next day to be sure the work order was in with the repair place. Satisfied I agreed to take the phone survey at which point I gave a 5 star review. Called the repair place the next day as instructed and was pleased that the work order was in. They said the whole process would be like a week and I would have my PA head back soon.

But the shipping label never came. I waited a few weeks and called back. Long story short they were nice again and were to resend the shipping label. This time through email as well as regular mail. I told then they were nice but declined the survey this time as I still was only half way there without the shipping label.

Again it never came. I had baby in the meantime so afew weeks went by again before I would call a third time. Same deal they said they would send shipping label both email and snail mail. Neither ever came.

I dont know the situation here but there is definately a problem with this ADH Warranty. I would run away from the ADH Warranty on any purchase, and although this is a great souding PA for the price, I would run away from it as well due to the common issues that many including myself have had.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

Get better quality stuff. This doesn't last long.
This system is very limited in features. It is for REHERSALS ONLY! It should only be used for speech reinforcement. Effects are OK. No inserts so no way to change the sound. EQ is not the best but not terrible. The front of knobs fall off.
Once again, not the best sounding board, or speakers. Go for higher quality stuff. This is not powerful enough for a band!
You get what you pay for!

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

Had this setup for about 7 years. Was used extensively for the past 5 years. No complaints at all on the quality of sound. However when the fx return knob was damaged and making contact with its circuit board in the back it was unusable. Tried to get replacement part from Phonic and was told(after numerous attempts for them to contact me back)that the part was unavailable even though they still produce the product. There is only one contact person in the U.S. named Eric Schwartz who has the personality of a wet mop. His demeanor for being in customer support was deplorable. No desire to make me feel I was important and to keep me as a customer or make me want to buy another Phonic product. The powerpod is an awesome product for the money. But if something breaks on it, you may as well throw it out. Can't say I didn't get my money's worth out of it. I did get 5 great years out of it. But Phonic customer support is unacceptable to me. If you're on a tight budget go ahead and buy it but protect it with your life. Or save up more money and buy something you can at least gets parts for and repair. I DO NOT recommend any Phonic product based only on it's lack of customer support.

Tweeter horn and one TSR input did not work . Rather than send everything back , I opened the speaker up and found a connector for the Horn disconnected, easy fix! Disassembled the mixer head and found bad connection on the TSR plug, second easy fix!
For the money, this is a great system , make sure you test all functions when the unit arrives. Again, for the amount of shipping these units go thru it is amazing that they make it to us customers with such little issues!

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

We have owned this PA system for approximately 3 months. We are a four piece band but do not play out. That does not mean we do not get loud. Upon receiving this PA it took a little bit of work to get used to all controls as I feel the booklet that came along with it should have had more information. The pros this system are as follows. It is loud enough for what we needed for, and once we learned how to use the effects that was also a plus.

Now for the cons.
The wire that they send for the speakers is inferior. The plug-in for speaker cable at the speakers is also inferior as it is made out of plastic. I was moving a speaker and unfortunately had my foot on the cable and when I went to lift the speaker because my foot was on the cable the Jack on the speaker itself cracked. Normally I've seen these made out of metal and I would not have had this problem had been made out of metal. However this is a small price to pay for system priced at such a reasonable price.
The effects seem to take a little bit of time to catch up to the change from one number to the next. So be patient when checking out the effects. Another con is that I am having a trouble with using the seven band equalizer and not getting feedback. But again I am not in a very very large room but yet one that I would assume is big enough not to have feedback.

All in all I believe that it is adequate for what we needed and intended to do. I do not believe that it could handle a large venue or perhaps even a midsize bar. However so far we are happy and time will tell just what kind of the deal we got.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

Speakers handls are plastic and rather cheap, 1/4" connections mounted in plastic. becarefull with them.
Purchased this unit for smaller PA venues and to use as monitors for bigger gigs. Does a great job on the monitors, for smaller PA jobs of crowds of a 100 or so works great. Speakers are amazingly light and easy to move. not a super power house so don't buy if you want crushing power, but it does have some punch!
If you are on a tight budget and want a decent unit for smaller venues this is a good deal. I am a big believer in 15 inch speakers, they just give better dispersal to the crowd.

Amazing!

By Christian Stone

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

For several years I owned a Behringer EUROPOWER PMP960M mixer and a couple of yamaha speakers. I got out of the club playing and sold most of my gear. The itch returned and I decided to get back into solo playing. Due to budget restrictions, I opted for the Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package with a little fear as to what I was buying. One always hears "You get what you paid for." TOTALLY WRONG!!!!! I was impressed with the package from the time I unboxed it and set it up and I'm still impressed! A great sounding system with no flaws that I can find. Amazing how so much can come at such a small price. I'd recommend it to anyone without hesitation. Having said all of that, I also bought the trusted Shure SM57 mic which is much better than the mic supplied with the system. I'll keep the included mic as a backup, but if anything, I'd recommend a better mic. I had the cables from my previous playing and I use those. I can't comment on the included cables. All in all, an excellent investment for the low price.
