I used to have a Powerpod 740 which I was very happy with for lots of years, but now I've upgraded to the 780 one. It's a very similar mixer head but seems a lot better in many ways. The digital effects are much better, and there is a lot more of them (but there is no parameter control). And the EQs seem to give me much better control of the music than they used to. The preamps the same quiet I think, but they're very clear. The most important part is that the amplifier has so much more power! I've wanted to add more speakers to my system for a long time, and now I can! There is 400 watts on every channel with this mixer, so now I have 2 speakers on every channel. It's so much better.

I'm not one to want to leave negative feedback on a product because I believe most of the time you get what you pay for. I had a LipDub music video shoot that I needed the powerpod 780 for. Chose this mainly because I owned the 740 prior to this and never had an issue but sold it last year. The price was right needed it quickly and having past experience with them thought this was a logical choice. Turns out I bought the restock option which should of been a no no in this situation. The unit worked perfectly for the first 25 minutes or so and then suddendly stopped working. Then in would play for 10 or 15 seconds and cut out again. I see this vision in my head where this happened to the first owner at a gig, so they returned it. A bench technician gets the unit powers it up, runs through all of his checks and says there is nothing wrong with this. Music Friend restocks this and then I purchase the unit. Viola! same thing happens. I call Music Friend to let them know the unit cuts out. Send it back and again it starts the cycle all over. Just food for thought on a restock item. Doesn't mean they are all like this but in my case this is what happened.
There was definitely an issue with the unit I received. Unit kept cutting in and out. Something wrong in the circuit.

I bought this unit and it kept cutting out on me after a few minutes. I finally noticed that when it was shipped to me, they must have dropped it or something because the fan was bent. I took the unit to an authorized dealer and the cost of the repairs was covered. The unit works great now. Great deal for the price.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 780 Plus 2X300W 7-Channel Powered Mixer with Digital Effects:

This unit is compact and light weight with plenty of power The lettering is a little small and hard to read on the front of the unit but, all around this is a great buy.
          I rate this powerhead as a 10
very well built and user friendly
This unit is the best buy you can get on a PA head for small and medium sized gigs. dollar for dollar you get plenty of power and good quality in this unit. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

A good mixeramp for a great price

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 780 Plus 2X300W 7-Channel Powered Mixer with Digital Effects:

We use the powerpod 780 for our practice sessions. It is a great price and works wonderfully with our speakers and instruments. The sound is loud and clear, and it has very high output wattage. The unit is light and I can carry it around no problemo. There are pad buttons on the first four inputs which is good since we have some equipment that comes in very hot. All in all a very good purchase.

I bought this mixer last year as a system with mains. Has been a great mixer and setup for my acoustic and electric bands. No issues whatsoever. Good for someone needing something small and easily portable on a budget.

If you're into that vintage Low-fi" sound, this is just the ticket! It is so easy to do too! Just plug anything into this PA, and it will automatically:Add noise, suck tone, support cheap foreign knock-offs,kill American economy, waste your money, make you sound amateurish, even if you are a pro!Highly recommended for deaf people with little regard for musical talent!Even auctioneers and hog-callers loathe this thing!
