I have been using the DJM600 for years--this one replaced my DJM500. The outstanding points are: the sound, the EQs, the effects and the mic preamp. So often people looking at mixers compare the feature list only. You need to do A/B comparisons with other products--and you'll quickly see why this mixer is this price vs. the "equivalent" Behringer for so much less! If you talk on the mic a lot, a quality preamp is a must. If you connect to professional sound systems, the XLR outputs are useful. If you are a professional dj, you will appreciate the great sounding EQs. Oh yes... and long, precise LED bargraphs for EACH channel! (not common)The only downsides I can point out... the fader is not very durable--if you scratch a lot, you will replace it often. We even broke ours right off! Also, the fader caps are not strong--we've replaced them a few times. At least the parts are available.

i am partial to the analog faders, and this one almost has it right. but the digi faders just aren't there yet. it's got real cool effects that you can use on the song or your voice for a bad a** intro. but sometimes dj equipment can take beatings and sometimes they can't. this one can't. i have done 3 repairs to mine and now it is broke again and i just don't care any more. real cool for the sound and for beginner dj's but not for those tryin to make the cash and a name. and way too expensive.

        DJM-600...Still the BEST

        By GANTOR_08

        from Atlanta, GA

I've had the DJM-600 for over six years. It is still the best mixer I have EVER worked with, or sholud I say, the best mixer that worked with me. Its user friendly and, its performance is more than any pro would ask for.I've been a DJ since I was 17 and now I'm 45. Equipment like this makes me want to "stay in the game".

        It's okay

        By D.J. Twist

I've used it once. The features are the best, but I think it should be more durable for the price. The one I used was used by several station djs and I know it has had a couple repairs before it was even a 6 months old. Other than that it's cool, but way too expensive.

        Tis a Good Mixer

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

It is a good mixer for a dj. Would be nicer if there were adjustable freq. for the e.q. but thats from my engineering point of view. I guess ya don't really need those in the club but it would be nice. As far as the durability, it is good for a trance/house dj because your not slamming the fader as often as a scratch dj. I wouldn't recomend this mixer for a scratcher, as the cross fader will die on you quickly my friend. The built in effects are ok, not the best as because you don't have full control over them. They sweep to the parameters that you set them at, and thats about it. As far as sound goes, it's quite nice and seems to be the standard in clubs. Well thats about it, if you spin trance, techno, or house I would recomend this mixer for you. If you spin anything that requires major movement, the faders aren't build for abuse so consider going with the djm 909.

        DJ Starlyte

I loved the DJM-500 but little did I know then, there was a 600. I love this mixer. It is easily the best mixer for the price that a DJ can buy.

best mixer out there for non-skratch applications

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

I love this mixer, the sound is good and the EQ's sound great. oh yeah, the effects are dangerously addicting, plus the "attenuation screw" feature should be required on all mixers!!! That alone could end the dj-FOH war.

        great mixer

        By waxpaper

        from North Little Rock, AR

this mixer has lasted through many years of abuse. fact of the matter is some of these units find themselves broken occasionally due to mishandling (abuse) more than defectiveness. i would recommend it to anyone. though it is not of the best design for a scratch dj, you will find comfort in knowing that you can indeed use it for scratching. worried about faders? you can get replacements for this unit that are quite easy to replace and you can actually get the original parts. the effects are similar to the efx-500 with a bit less control (no frequency kills). you can only do one effect at a time (only one channel as well.) this unit has a great auto loop function that can get out out of a jam, you just have to watch your time indicators if you change the timing.

I'd really like the djm - 600s, It has very cool effects, a loop function on the panel, and it is great for playing in the club's. When you compare to another mixer, you will see the differents
