This is a great deal for the money. Preamps are usually put in the 'you get what you pay for' category but I think this unit is exceptional. Run a decent mic through this and maybe a vocal enhancer and you couldn't ask for better vocals given the money spent. I use a Shure SM7B and an Antares AVP-1 vocal producer with this unit and absolutely love the results. It's the perfect thing to add that warmth I'm looking for in my vocals. And in response to all those comments regarding the lack of a power switch, some of the best rack-mounted equipment are designed to be left on. But if you are all so worried about it, instead of sabotaging the products overall review, why don't you use your brains and go to the nearest office supply store and buy a power strip with a switch on it??? That way you can plug multiple devices in and turn them all on and off with ONE simple switch. Thinking is fun!

First of all, the "tube" that has the red diode under it to make you dumb enough to believe the tube is on is just plain deception. 2nd, it couldn't be true stereo preamp if both channels went through one tube. 3rd this thing will muddy up your sound really well. It is o.k. for taking the edge off of say an acoustic guitar, say for live performance purposes. It gives an o.k. effect to bass guitar...if you want that muddy overdrive sound. I paid half the current price for this and wouldn't pay a dime more. Oh yeah and the light in one of the VU meters went out about 4 months after I had it. (might've been able to prolong it's life if it had an on/off switch) This is a rip off for this "preamp".

Comments about PreSonus BLUETUBE DP Stereo Dual Path Microphone/Instrument Preamp with 12AX7 Tube:
A good device and my church's music connoisseurs even took notice of the "rounded" and "thick" tones from my Gibson ES339 coming through the church's antiquated sound system.
Highly recommended for any guitar player.

Comments about PreSonus BLUETUBE DP Stereo Dual Path Microphone/Instrument Preamp with 12AX7 Tube:
This is just the thing to add some warmth, whether it's to vocals, a direct or mic'd acoustic, or direct bass or guitar. I REALLY wish there was a power switch and that it had front access to the jacks, but it's a small price to pay for the warmth and clarity this gives you with no fuss. I've been recording for 15+ years, and I have to agree with the 'no better gear for the money' attitude in the other reviews.
Comments about PreSonus BLUETUBE DP Stereo Dual Path Microphone/Instrument Preamp with 12AX7 Tube:
Until you have used this product it is rediculous to write a review. All brands have defective products no company is immune to this. I have a working ubnit, however the first one I received had a defective channel. Rather than act like a child who got a broken toy on Christams I returned it and got a working one. You absolutely can not get a better tube pre for this price. It gives my vocals a warmth and depth I have only heard when in the studio, I record my vocals at home in the bathroom. When I plug my guitar in it even makes my practice amo sound great running direct in. It's easy to use and use it I do, it has not been disconnected frrom my BR 1200-CD since I hooked it up. Great Buy!!!
Comments about PreSonus BLUETUBE DP Stereo Dual Path Microphone/Instrument Preamp with 12AX7 Tube:
Just got this Presonus Bluetube DP yesterday. I began experimenting by putting it between my guitar and DAW to try to add a bit of warmth to the amp modeling software. The VU meter went into the red when I strummed a chord assertively with the gain on the Bluetube at zero. The 20db pad did nothing. The tube drive knob did nothing. Both channels were equally defective. I'll be returning it at once.
Comments about PreSonus BLUETUBE DP Stereo Dual Path Microphone/Instrument Preamp with 12AX7 Tube:
I really like this and it does what it says it does. An on-off switch would be nice but they are quite easy to install. For those earlier posts wondering about stereo from only one tube... a 12AX7 tube has two "sides" in it, not only one.
Comments about PreSonus BLUETUBE DP Stereo Dual Path Microphone/Instrument Preamp with 12AX7 Tube:
I've been recording with this bad boy for a little under a year now, and couldn't be happier with it. I run my guitar through it, and then through a pedal, and then into Logic Studio for some EQ and tweaking and the sound I get is AWESOME! Turn the the tube all the way up and just barely add enough solid state to make it audible and you're set!As far as vocals go, I avoid the tube for them, using only solid state, and it adds the warmth that everyone seems to be looking for. Overall, great product for the price. Piece of advice: let it run for a few days to burn the tubes in before trying to record anything through the tube.
Comments about PreSonus BLUETUBE DP Stereo Dual Path Microphone/Instrument Preamp with 12AX7 Tube:
This thing is a great tube pre amp for recording or live applications. Some people reviewing it I think are not quite sure how to use it. Is it the best pre amp out there? For an affordable price, yes. You simply cannot beat it. If you have no budget there are better out there. But once you get better than this device you get into the 500 dollar + range. Which a lot of people aren't wanting to pay for their home studio. This product really makes your vocals sound warm as well as the acoustic guitar. Also if you own a guitar port you can plug into this with your guitar and then into the guitarport. That allows the amp models on there to sound a lot better having the tube pre amp in front of it.But I mostly use it into an m-audio fast track pro. If this product tore up I would buy it again the same day. I do wish it had an on/off switch but that's not going to cause me to not have something that has this kind of sound because of a switch. Also it makes no difference to me what kinda adapter it plugs up with. That doesn't affect me in the least.
Comments about PreSonus BLUETUBE DP Stereo Dual Path Microphone/Instrument Preamp with 12AX7 Tube:
I have purchased one of the Bluetube and I think it was the great mistake - only one 12AX7 tube on two direct channel gives the noise on 50-60Hz. If you need recording distored sound without drive pedal - I think this item for you.
Comments about PreSonus BLUETUBE DP Stereo Dual Path Microphone/Instrument Preamp with 12AX7 Tube:
God I love this thing. I used it for my acoustic guitar and microphones, but now I run my electric guitar through it and into my Line 6 75 watt amp, and it sounds sweet. Like an old school tube amp. I can't say enough about this product. It's awesome.
