This thing has been great so far. We use this a practice every week and I mix when we play live so we use the pa to our advantage. We use the 16.0.2, 2 450W powered mains and 3 150W powered monitors. This setup is pretty portable and sets up quick.
The 16.0.2 has been proven to be easy to work with and allow me to run effect for our vocal mics and bass through the STEREO mains - ping pong delay don't do much for me in mono.
We mic everything up and record to an older PC using Capture (included) with great success.
We have used it live once and it sounded so much better than most shows at the same venue and recieved compliments on the sound.
I have been using this mixer live once a week for almost a year and am still finding cool thing that it can do!
The preamps work well, the channel strips are great - storing and loading presets is easy! Tweaking is easy!
The AUX/FX sends good once you understand how to set up the signal path for your application - you gotta use the menu! For our band 4 AUX mixes are all we need and they are easy to work with live.
The FX work well for us and we use them alot. mostly reverb and delay - the tap tempo button is GREAT!
The interface/metering/display is great! Easy to use live - the little BNC light socket came in handy untill i learned the mixer better. We use Capture every time we play and I take the tracks home and mix them - no one has beed disappointed by the results - again EASY!
This is my first piece of Presonus gear - I hope is is as good as their other products have proven to be. Had to update firmware and such when I got the mixer but it was fine.
A bit pricy but if it holds up it will prove to be a great value.

As I mentioned, this has been a great experience with this board so far. The boys sound great. Have to learn a little more about how much this thing can do just because I am a beginner at this stuff, but I wanted to write this review so that others would not hesitate to go with this digital powerhouse.
The features on this thing are incredible. We are finding new things as we go. Intitially, we were a little scared to use the board because it looks complicated and I am an amateur sound "dad". Basically, we watched a video on the internet and picked it up right away. The kids have a 4 piece band. Lead singer, lead guitar, drums and bass. They have played different venues getting started and we have seen the house bands or other bands dragging in loads and loads of racks and boxes, all connected with at least a million wires and running all over the place. We decided that with today's technology, there had to be a better way to go. With a lot of research, we chose to go with this mixer. We literally bring in one box. It has all the features packed right in. Also, its very compact, not as big as a sheet of plywood like some other mixers. Today's technology at its best. We paired this up with a couple of powered QSC153's. Again, to cut down on all the power amps and wires and even more racks. As a result, we are set up and ready to go in no time at all. This mixer has more than enough features to handle any of our situations, and then some. We haven't even gotten into the recording aspect yet, but I know that will be great just based on some of the reviews I have read.
We have had no issues with the quality of this board. Everything feels like it will last. Like I mentioned above, I am an amatuer sound guy but the quality seems to be great compared to other boards I've played with in the store.
I have to say, as a parent to a beginning band but with great potential (not your everyday kid band), I thought it would be good to get them started out right. That has wokred. Although this board is more expensive than the old analog mixers, there is really nothing else to buy so I thought we were way ahead with this approach.

Awesome product!
I bought this for my studio for recording and I love it! It sounds great and I love the fact that I can add reverb from the mixer to headphone/monitor mixes. It's a cool work flow.
I'm also using it for band rehearsals and small gigs. I highly recommend this mixer to anyone!
It's built like a tank, easy to use and sounds great.

with its setbacks its a great board, its not the 16.4.2 but it will get the job done with 700 dollars left in your bank for decent drum mics, or a crossover
Being a 16.4.2 owner i can say a few things of what i was expecting... I was expecting a 16.4.2 without busses and without 16 channels... which is close but not exactly what i got. Heres the ticket. YES it is the same when using it live, everything you would expect to see on each channel is still there... heres where you loose out, the recording. See the 16.4.2 allows you to record each channel, each bus, and the master out. The 16.0.2 allows only to record the channels. What that means is, say you record your show, then roll it back and mix it at home. reloading your Reverb efx, comp etc. Then when you want to record that mix as is.... but you cant... You cant record the master outs. So be prepared to buy a second interface to analog XLR to in order to record your mix AS IS.
other wise if you have a bunch of VST plugs you cant wait to use in your DAW, then its perfect. I just like the reverbs on the board. there decent.
great! just like a mini-me version of the 16.4.2. ive owned the 16.4.2 5 years glitch free
went from 3 racks of gear to a tote bag... by back loves me
