I wanted something better than a cheapo clip, and this rubber one sounded like it would hold my mic nice and firmly, which it does. HOWEVER, I really had to pry it open to get the mic in there. I don't plan on taking the mic out very often, so I'm satisfied. But if you will be taking the mic in and out, or using mics with different diameters, this may require more effort than a typical plastic clip. I would not want to deal with that in a live setting. That's the only caveat. Otherwise it's a solid clip.

I would not buy another until it's re-enginered ... unfortunately..I purchased 3 so i will have them for a while.
Very rugged and it's rubber...snugs the mic and holds it well.
It's wonderful if you use s straight mic stand....but if you use a boom stand and it's on an angle...well it's made of rubber and the thin piece where the screw holds it is very flimsy and it sags.....it is still very funtional...just looks like it's going to fall.....I suggest the makers intigrate a metal insert in the rubber at that point.
Besides the sagging.....It's a great mic holder and should never break. If the sagging bothers you....then pay half the price and buy a regular holder.

Comments about Proline Rubber Microphone Clip:

These clips are okay.
Wouldn't use them for a lead singer mic stand because you can not slid the mic in and out....kind of a pain to put the mic in them.
Good for backup vocals when the mic remain stationary.
Over all a 5 rating.

This mic clip is exactly as advertised. The quality is superior to the plastic style holders. The rubber grabs the mic for a secure, stable position. I recommend Musicians Friend to all musicians, for their quality and professional line of products.

Comments about Proline Rubber Microphone Clip:

This mic clip has served me well on my vocal mic stand and is a great addition to my clips. The only problem is that when I turn it sideways to mic the bass drum or an amp, the all-rubber construction causes the microphone to sag downward. This clip cannot hold the weight of a standard mic sideways, but is absolutely wonderful horizontal for singing, and grips the mic well for upside-down usage.

Comments about Proline Rubber Microphone Clip:

I run an open mic where the microphones are in and out every ten minutes, and with plenty of ham-handed amateurs, hard plastic clip don?t stand a chance. Impervious to abuse, these rubber clips stay screwed on my stands which get thrown in the trunk and routinely crushed. I have never had one clip fail in any way, and am going to buy more of them. Yes, the tilt screws do frequently come loose (thus my 4 rating), and I keep a large flathead screwdriver in my kit for that.Reading other reviews, I suspect there must be some batches of these that are better than others. With plenty of abuse, I've never had the thread separate from the rubber.

            Really Stinks! But works great.

Comments about Proline Rubber Microphone Clip:

It does literally stink, but it works well, and is nearly indestructable. But when it comes down to it, I haven't seen any of the more modern Shure clips bust either, and my band shoves Sennheiser mics (which are a bit larger than Shures) into them every week.
I like the concept. It won't get smashed in the gig back or mic stand bag. I'm sure it will work perfectly in this respect. However, I wasn't expecting the noxious rubber smell, which might be an absolute dealbreaker for some.
Well made, and the rubber obviously won't break.
Seems like it could be cheaper, considering what goes into it.

Seems stiff when new. I like to use for an SM58 mic (or similar) that will remain stand
            mounted for the performance.
            Good gripping mic clip
            Appears to be very rugged.
I will buy more of these as the OEM plastic clips break.

            Rubber Microphone Clips

Comments about Proline Rubber Microphone Clip:

I have gone through a lot of mic clips as sound engineer for local clubs. There are a number of 'rubber' clips available. This one is by far the best. It will fit most microphones, and will not occasionally 'let go' of the mic... dropping it to the floor. The reason I use these rubber clips exclusively is because I use SM58's exclusively. The plastic clip that Shure provides works just fine, only when it fails (breaks), it can give you a nasty cut from the splintered plastic. This clip is durable, affordable, and I highly recommend it to anyone who uses Shure SM58's.

Buy them by the dozen! Roadie from Lyin Ted Band recommended them, as one of Musician's Friend's best deals ever. He was right. They are made of moulded rubber (not cheap plastic) and grip your mic firmly
without damaging or scratching your equipment. These are the same clips you will find at many stores
in the pro section for $20+. Let your friends know about this deal, they will give you a standing ovation :)

Comments about Proline Rubber Microphone Clip:

Clip feels great, holds a mic, but if you screw the clip too far onto a mic stand, it will pull the threaded metal piece out of the plastic housing.

Another point to note - since the clip part is flexible rubber, the whole clip will flex from side to side above the hinge when you adjust the clip. doen't hinder use at all, but it's a bit surprising the first time you use it.
