I just got this amp to replace a crummy Nady one that went bad. It has been excellent so far powering a pair of 15 inch mains and a pair of 12 inch monitors. There are alot of hookup options and plenty of power. I previously bought a Peavey IP3000 and it was a piece of junk. I returned it for the QSC and am really satisfied now. The QSC GX5 is a good choice for a small to mid-sixe PA setup.

Comments about QSC GX5 Stereo Power Amplifier:
GX5 is Powerful and Clean !
I use one channel to power my JBL 15's Mains
and the other channel to power 2-12" floor monitors.
power/Vol knobs has never been past the 1-2 o'clock position.
going to buy one more for a pair of sub-woofers
and get rid of the powered ones.
CON's not that this is a deal breaker
The Fan it a bit loud but once music is going you don't hear it at all.
and these unit are a bit heavy! but its the price you have to pay for a true power rating not like these whimpy D Class Power amps that weigh nothing and say thier 1000 watts but sound like they are really 200 watts
price is reasonable too!

Comments about QSC GX5 Stereo Power Amplifier:
We have a pair of QSC RMX 850 amplifiers. When our Carvin amplifier started to go, we knew we had to replace it. We looked at the QSC RMX 850s and saw that the GX5 was the same price.
Wow! What a difference. The GX5 is so much better and cleaner sounding than our old Carvin. It is also more powerful than the RMX 850 amps.
This is a main amplifier for our house auditorium sound. It has performed quite well. I like it so much that the RMX 850's will be replaced with a GX5 and a GX7 when we can afford the spare cash.

Comments about QSC GX5 Stereo Power Amplifier:
For my small PA these are more than adequate. Runnig OAP tops with B&C loaded subs which are all 100db + in sensitivity. The amp never gets hot. I use the CX series in my large scale PA but the GX (although an entry level amp) is very nice. Sound is clean and clear and the GX 5 gets loud enough for most applications. I have 8 in my small system. Manual could be better for those who do not know how to use the basic features of an amp, but it really does not get easier than these basic amps. There are poor reviews from some once in a blue moon, but I believe these people do not have the tech skills to set gain structure at the mixer or amp. Use quality gear in the whole chain and NO ADAPTERS and you will not be disappointed.
Easy to use and nice x-over feature for an amp of this price from a very reputable mfg. Only wish x-over was adjustable.
Made like other QSC products...reliable.
Comments about QSC GX5 Stereo Power Amplifier:
Good amp but it's vent's fan is so noisy. It's manual should be better written in concise English. I don't know why all electronic industry so cheap not to provided a DVD how to properly Installation.I am willing to pay a hidden charge or charges for it. I went to three or four techs for advise how to install all these amp, Mixer ,two passive speaker and pow er sub. All of them included SQC manufactory expert gave contrary accounts and none work. At the mixer I have to hooked up to the PHONE in order to get the power sub to work but the sound came out extremely terrible no matter how you adjusted these 12 channels mixer.

Awesome amp...owned one for two years but another one to bridge...guess what?? These amps do not bridge you can set them for in individual output which builds you up to about 600w but NO BRIDGING. It is a workhorse and if you get a little over zealous with the power it shuts down and saves your system...running PVDJ S5's, Kustom, Gemni, and EV Speaker systems with this unit and solo and keeps on tickin!! Musicians Friend provided great support via the technical support to help me with my bridging problem.
Comments about QSC GX5 Stereo Power Amplifier:
Have owned this unit for over a year now...picking up what sounds like a grounding problem static hum. Trashed my very low end radioshack eq and bought a behringer and doing much better but still some hum when not playing any music. At a loss at this point but its bearable...Musicians Friend has been a real bud trying to help me work out the problems. will send them another tech support help me please email. Not overmodulating and don't know if its the amp or not at this point.
Comments about QSC GX5 Stereo Power Amplifier:
This is my first QSC amp. Compared to my other amps: Samson, Crown, and Peavey, this seems to be a good amp. It is somewhat lighter than the others and produces quality sound. The only thing I noticed is the fan is noisier than any other amp I own. I don't know if all QSC amps are that way or the GX line or if it's just mine. It's not a problem when you are actually playing but you can hear it in a church environment between songs.
