I've owned these for about 6 months, and am very happy with them. I also had the hpr18's, and I actually prefer these better. Ended up selling the hpr's - I just stopped using them. The k-sub is a much more "musical" sub, and has plenty of tight punch for only being 12" drivers. They are very gigable- and have a small footprint.Sometimes I do miss standing in front of the hpr's to feel the wind blast- they do have their place- but if you're looking for quality low end, and want to save your back, then check these out.

I have 2 of these. The speakers sound like a much bigger speaker. The bass they produce is a loud snappy type of bass. They are very portable and I can fit these in a car instead of a van or suv. I use them with a Driverack Px. I can somewhat taylor the kind of bass they play. I play them loud and it takes a lot of volume to make them clip. The speaker is designed to play dance, r&b, or just about any type of music. The only thing I noticed is that if you are playing real bass heavy music; such as hip hop. The speaker does not play very low hertz. It is designed to play down to 44hz. The spl the speaker puts out is 130db; which makes up for the deficiency in the amount of low frequency bass it produces. 2 twelve inch woofers playing together in a 4th order bandpass enclosure makes it sound almost like an 18 inch woofer; but not as low. Their are no powered subwoofers in the market that are this small that have 1000 watts that sound like these. The connections on the back let you connect just about anything. If you want to run a mic, a cd player, or even an ipod straight to the speaker without a mixer you can. The warranty also can't be matched; at 6 years. Also these are the same thickness birchwood cabinets as the kw series.

This is the best designed subwoofer we have seen. It is easy to move and set-up. QSC engineered every possible connection into the amp. The dual-12 drivers align vertically so that dispersion is improved even though low frequencies are omni-directional. Of course, if you are looking at these, you know about QSC quality. What you may not yet know is how great their speakers sound. They are superb. We also like the built-in connection for the speaker-pole-mount, which is very convenient in many smaller venues. That feature, along with the integrated wheels has saved us a great deal of set-up time. If you need a sub, or plural subs, this QSC is a definite winner. Tight, Low and LOUD. It plays nicely with DSP so you can tune the system to the room much faster and you won't need an engineering degree. QSC hit this one over the wall. Great job!

Just picked up one of these last weekend to take the place of my powered JBLPRX15 (in the shop under warranty)And all I can say is WOW! A little cleaner than the JBL. I had a couple of comments on how well my system sounded. I use a Yammaha 512 and two BR15 for mains and it rocked all night. I can't wait to get the JBL back into the mix! Great sub for the money and easy to handle with the included casters. Also has a pole included for mounting your mains. Wish I could afford one more!!!
