After purchasing this amp, I refuse to use anything else. I've used the other brands, and QSC takes the cake. I've never had ANY problems whatsoever even when pushing them to their limits. They are extremely efficient and will go all night long with no problems. I've used them in direct sunlight in >95 degree weather, STILL NO PROBLEMS. People may think these get hotter than the Crowns, but the only reason they seem that way is because crown has front-to-rear airflow (meaning the hot air comes out of the back of the amp, into the amp rack) in order to trick the consumer into thinking they run cooler. QSC uses rear-to-front in order to properly cool the amps. That right there just shows what kind of company QSC is, and I feel great supporting them!

I've owned a RMX2450 for 4 years now and it has been reduced to a spare amp. It was in the shop a few months after I bought it. When I finally got it back, it one channel failed on it again. Bought a PLX2402 to replace the RMX2450 and have been very pleased with it. After reading the other reviews, maybe I got a lemon. Still, I would recommend the PLX series if you have the money and want a QSC.

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

I have a rack with six of these in it. We use tham for our mains. Had them for ten years, never had a problem. Have used them for shows with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Canned heat, Ten Years After, Bad Company on and on. these are the work horse amps of the industry. 5 stars. We drive them with a 3 ohm load at 1000 watts per channel. Use 4 the 1450's bridged mono to drive our duel subs. You want a great amp that will last, This is it!!!

Good amp..

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

This is a great amp for the right aplication. I highly recomend this amp for highs and mids. I have used it on subs with poor results. The amp will clip very quickly even with proper gain structure. I now use my 2450 to push two Peavey SP5s and it works great. I use a Plx2 3602 to push two Peavey Sp 118s and you just cant seem to push this amp too hard. it really pumps out the low end. Also how can you go wrong with a 6 year warranty.

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

I've been using my QSC 2450 to power our subs for the last 4 years non stop. This amp definately has what it takes to get the job done. Back when I purchased this amp it came with a 7 year warranty, thats what sold me. Yes, its on the heavy side, and stacked with a QSC 1850HD for our mains, and a QSC 1450 for the monitors, our amp rack is heavy to haul. These QSC amps were designed and built for the long haul, with more power than any other amp of equal price. Our 2450 runs 4- 15" subs with a 4 ohm load @ 750 watts per channel. We run these amps wide-open for hours on end, and have never had them fail us for any reason. I love the dip switches in the back that let you conture the amp to your specific needs. My one and only complaint with these amps is that they only have speakon outputs. Whenever we use the amps to DJ with it would be nice to have 1/4 outputs as well for different speaker setups. Overall, QSC kicks butt...and is the only brand that will ever see the inside of our rack case!

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

These amps deliver hassle free high power. For there price they can't be beat. I Have used this model for about 5 years now I own 4 of them and they still work like new. I run them very hard even @ 2 ohms loads and they manage to maintain cooler than everything else I have. Never had one shut down on me. Do yourself the favor pay the little extra money and go with rmx2450 well worth it.

I think this amp is a very wise investment, so much so I own 2 of them I run them bridged mono one for the left and one for the right. I love the power and sound that this amp delivers. I have mine pushing 2 peavey sp5 speakers a side and the amps handle it with ease. I would replace one if one died but I don't see that happing .

Better amp then its German clone

      By quoin2

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

I have owned about every brand of amps over the years and QSC is about the only amp I have never had to have repaired.I owne 4 of the QSC 2450 amps and 2 QSC 1450, bought Behringer EuroPower EP2500 to try it out and the amp is no QSC 2450. Ran it in bridged mono @ 4 ohms pushing two B-52 act 18s and the same with the QSC 2450 at the same time for a show. The EuroPower EP2500 cliped sooner the the QSC and at the end of the night the EuroPower EP2500 was hot and the QSC was just warm! The QSC pushed the bass better, and the EuroPower EP2500 seemed to fad when pushed. These amps are not created equal. That all being said the EuroPower EP2500 is not a bad amp for the money, but if you want real power spend the money and get the QSC, and it has a great warranty.

Owning several of these amps I have been happy with them for several years. Recently two of the four I own have started shutting down. They are about 7 years old. Clip lights barly blink and the amp looses all output power. I have been pushing them hard for years. Maybe their just worn out. All in all, I still recommend them for serious professional.

one of the best values in power amp

      By Mill

      from Mn

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

use one (2450) for bass, 2 of the 1450's push our pa and monitors (we don't do outside shows, and gig occasionally rather than a lot). run 4 ohm on one channel, 8 on the other. the pa runs at 4 ohm a side and the monitors run at 2 ohms (4 x 8 ohm boxes) on one side, and 4 ohms on the other. For the price these put out a lot of clean sound. The tradeoff? They're heavy, can draw some current, need to ensure they have good air flow as their fans are unimpressive. As we add, we'll likely use qsc. They have larger amps that can match the demands that one reviewer (the outdoor show pro) seems to put on stuff (4050, 5050? model#s?) We're headed there at some point for bass, with the 2450 pushing pa.haven't had one fail yet (about 5 years service) though we're not taxing these a lot.definite value buy for the price conscious, like me.

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

I have only good things to say about QSC. I have owned this amp for three years now and have used it almost every weekend. I run mains for our acoustic trio and have used it many times for full bands as well. The power is clean and the unit very reliable. I accidentally dropped from about 4ft in the air in the case, and it works every time. Has never overheated and I always get great remarks on our sound quality. The amp is one place where you dont want to skimp in building your system.

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

This is a must buy item (if it fits your application). I use this currently on two 1200W 18" bass scoops. It works well, however, the features in it are nice to have only if you are using the amp for mids or highs... The limiter is catchy but if you plan to use this amp for bass, it's useless cause bass is punchier without it. The RMX 2450 is excellent on amperage pull. You can plug it into a wall and go, but if you want to get its full potential, make sure the amp has sufficient power. But ya, this amp is great, i'm lookin into getting more of this type ie. RMX 5000 and RMX 1450.

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

I own 4 of these amps. They are very good quality, sound great, and have an attractice price. The features are good although I do not like the DIP switches that you have to use for feature settings such as the high pass filters, or bridged mode. They are diffucult to set and figure out which direction to move the switch for a particular feature. Of course if you don't have any reason to change the settings, this is not a big deal. Two of my amps are bridged all the time for subs, however the other two are for monitors, and from time to time I use those a mains for a smaller gig, and that requires setting to be changed on the amps. Even with that said, it's still a great amp for the money!

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

I own three of these and two 1450's. I use the 2450's for the mains, the 1450's for the stage monitors. I have been using them on a regular basis for over two years. I have always thought and found them to be a great amps until now. I was doing a large outdoor live show July 4th. with a band. I had all three of the 2450's running with a 2.6 ohm load (3 speakers per side). They were driving hard for about four hours. Clip lights pulsing. The amps were kicking it out. Then I noticed some of the speakers starting to cut out so I cut down on the power. Now, all three amps cut out at about 50% power. One of them, the clip light stays on with nothing connected to it. I'm at a loss for words. I am now investigating repair options verses buying new amps.

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

Another quality amp from the world's best manufacturer. The price is high, but well worth it. I connected it to some 4 ohm speakers, without a input source, turned the gain all the way up and could not hear a thing. The rear to front airflow is a good thing for racks, and is extremely useful. Beware: It is 57 pounds and most of that is in the front of the amp.

      By Anonymous

      from Undisclosed

Comments about QSC RMX 2450 Power Amp:

People wanting to use this amp have to consider the application. When used within its limits, this is an ideal amplifier. Clear highs, no clipping, speakon to speakon connection, and excellent thump to the bass. This amp is perfect for Yamaha BR, JBL JRX, B-52 MX, etc. Higher output cabinets will need more power than this amp can provide; you won't have the headroom you need. Even in the bridged mono mode, it hits the red line too easy.
