Comments about Radial Engineering HotShot DM1 Microphone Signal Muting Footswitch:

Works great for communications to sound board or band members with IEMs, without audience hearing you with just the step on the footswitch. Be sure to get the right one for the mic being used. This one is for the condensor mic.

Comments about Radial Engineering HotShot DM1 Microphone Signal Muting Footswitch:

When I made the jump to IEMs with my 9 piece wedding band, I underestimated the challenges of onstage communications. Not like it was easy before IEMs to try to make an on-the-fly setlist change or some other communication, but even with ambient mics set up it was nearly impossible with in ears. This box is AWESOME. It's built like a tank, and I can clearly deliver a message right into my musicians ears. I glance back and see my drummer nod yes and know we're good to keep rolling with more motown, cut the slow dance short that isn't working, or add the request that the father of the bride just made. I also enjoy pointing out drunk bridesmaids, telling inside jokes, and asking who farted on stage through the HotShot. Love it.

DOES NOT WORK WITH PHANTOM POWERED MICROPHONES

Comments about Radial Engineering HotShot DM1 Microphone Signal Muting Footswitch:

I purchased this to work with two phantom powered instrument microphones in a church setting. Buried on the last page of the manual, it states that it does not work with powered phantom powered compressor microphones. Just to be sure, I tested it out...sure enough, when you hit that switch, a massive "POP" went right through the system.

That being said, it's fantastic build quality and I'm sure it would work quite well with regular SM-58's
