OVERVIEW

Noise-free and very affordable!

The Radial ProDI Passive Direct Box is a high-quality, passive direct box that employs a proprietary transformer for both impedance conversion and isolation. Linear from 20Hz-18kHz, with low distortion and virtually zero phase distortion makes it perfect for live or studio performances. Because of the transformer isolation, problems such as hum and buzz caused by ground loops are eliminated, making it very easy and hassle-free to use. The Radial ProDI features 1/4" thru/input, -15dB pad, and ground lift protected from damage by a protective front panel. Heavy-duty construction, baked enamel finish, and 600-ohm balanced output. 2-1/2" x 4-1/4".

Comments about Radial Engineering ProDI Passive Direct Box:

I thought about getting Radial's top of the line direct box, the JDI MK3 with a Jensen transformer, for more than twice the cost. But I can't imagine that the sound would have been any better. Clean, warm, pure sound from my Martin D35 with K&K Sound's Trinity system (sound hole condenser mike and piezo pickup combo).

Great sounding DI

Comments about Radial Engineering ProDI Passive Direct Box:

I have to say, passive is just the way to go. Passive DI's, Passive Basses. But you're looking at this so you probably agree right? Well if you're considering this DI I can tell you first hand it sounds great. I only use it in the studio, so I don't exactly need its "ruggedness", I could've gone with a DI made of paper. Radials aren't just tough, they're also the best sounding DIs on the market. Except for hi-end preamps with hi-z inputs (but that's like cheating). But these really are tanks, I wonder how bored Radial's repair employee is. He probably plays a lot of WOW. Anyway this DI is my go to for every bass and guitar to record in my studio. I re-amp everything so DI is an important piece in the signal chain.

VERY SOLID

By Sound Guy-X0-uw

Comments about Radial Engineering ProDI Passive Direct Box:

This thing is like an SM58, it is extremely durable! Spend a little extra and get this, it will last forever. It may not have a ton of bells and whistles, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do, it is a passive mono DI.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do.

Comments about Radial Engineering ProDI Passive Direct Box:

Its a DI box, build like a rock. Will route a clean signal with the correst impedence to an Mic input channel on a pre-amp, perfect for PC interfaces. The Direct Thru works great, no change in tone or volume when runs it to an amp, perfect for direct monitoring, or recording both the guitar amp and the clean singal together. Overall, it does exactly what it's supposed to do, no hassle, works like a charm, build incredibly solid.

I picked up two of these because I was sick of those cheaper DI boxes causing issues. This thing is built to last. It is super high quality and heavy duty. It sounds great!

Comments about Radial Engineering ProDI Passive Direct Box:

We have seven of these Radial DI Boxes at church, and we just purchased two more. We tried many other brands but these are the best, but not perfect. We had one fail about a month ago. The ProDIs are rugged and very quiet with good connectors and a baked-on exterior paint that is hard to scratch. It has a padded bottom and rounded corners. It couldn't be much better.

Comments about Radial Engineering ProDI Passive Direct Box:

When I perform at older venues that have antique electrical wiring, no matter how good they try and clear up the signal, humm and sometimes static from the outmoded and worn electrical lines wreck the ability to get the subtle nuances of my acoustic guitars through their PA system.
This RADIAL DI answers a LOT of those issues immediately without sacrificing too much high end
          signal.

Comments about Radial Engineering ProDI Passive Direct Box:

If you are using a PA system this DI box will provide a good signal, when you are using cables 30' long or longer. It has also given more balance to the treble strings while playing bass, which provides a better overall sound and punch in my bass sound. It is built like a tank and no batteries! The only reason I give this four stars is that when I used it with my active bass the treble signal had a slight hiss, so in that case I would prefer to use an active Direct Box, and, yes they make those too!

I love Radial! This passive DI is very sold. It has a great pad on the bottom to keep it separated from the ground and safe. This thing is a rock and it sounds great!

Comments about Radial Engineering ProDI Passive Direct Box:

This is a solidly built passive direct box that greatly reduces any unwanted noise while sending the signal to the mixer. And its built like a tank! I emailed Radial's customer service group a technical question about an application for the box and they answered it via email inside of 1 hour. Amazing!
