Comments about Rain Computers Event Mini Audio Computer:
I was a little disappointed with the noise level of the computer. If you have a place to store this away from your recording/ mixing area than it is a nice computer with plenty of options.
Do not use for recording your music directly unless you store this in a soundproof cabinet or in a soundroom OUT of the studio. The fan is VERY loud.
Lots of outputs, plenty of power. Small footprint.
REALLY loud PSU. The fan is as loud as the inside of an airplane. USB ports feel like they will snap off inside the computer. The case is really cheap. Very nice Gigabyte motherboard.
You get what you pay for in a computer. Rain saved money by using some cheap parts with a good quality motherboard.

Okay, let me be nice for a moment by saying that this is a great overall computer for everyday use. It is fast, reliable has a small footprint. However.....
As far as "silent" is concerned, it is about as silent as the coach section of an airplane. Would you record or mix in an environment like that? I had a ten year old laptop that was quieter than this thing. I was hoping to convert my redcording from a bench recorder to a DAW unit and skip the step, but now I am forced to forget about the idea unless I want to isolate the computer with a iso box or run wires into another room. Needless to say, the "silent" feture is misleading and I am very disappointed.
If you are looking for a nice, fast computer that you can isolate or put in a room away from mixing or recording, than it's your macine. If you are keeping it in the same room as your DAW or mixing/mastering room than look for something else!
Nicely built.
A good value computer for everyday use.
