Versatile 3-channel, 10" format DJ mixer. Durable Lexan top plate. Universal internal power supply accepts 100 to 240 VAC, 50/60Hz power, for use anywhere in the world without adapters. Auto-gain prevents performance-wrecking swings in program level when changing sources. The music is never too soft or clipped. FlexFX is a post-fader external stereo effects loop with individual dry/wet pan controls for mic and input channels 1, 2, and 3.
Smooth, accurate and reliable mixing is made possible by employing the most respected name in audio faders, Penny & Giles. 2 kinds of fader caps are provided for different mixing preferences: soft rubber caps for smooth mixing and hard plastic caps for fast mixing. Flash-Cue allows the DJ to rapidly select Crossfader A-Cue-sum or Crossfader B-Cue-sum with the flick of a switch, a normally slow and complicated operation on other mixers.
Nothing is more frustrating than arriving at a club and finding their jacks don't match. House systems may have XLR, TRS, or RCA connectors. The Empath provides all 3. Low and high headphone tone controls allow the DJ to match their mixer to their headphones. Both 1/8" and 1/4" headphone jacks are simultaneously usable.
2 assignable CD triggers work with any CD player with fader-start ability. Accelerated-slope, full-cut, 3-band tone controls are the most flexible and highest quality available. Crossfader assign switches allow any input channel to be mixed on the A-side, B-side, or post crossfader. Level meters show stereo cue, stereo master mix, split cue, or main output signals. The Auto-Gain circuit is a built-in 3:1 ratio compressor, keeping your levels consistent. All of these features are wrapped in the smallest, most portable chassis of any 3-channel mixer. Excellent control ergonomics allow this small package to feel as open and comfortable as much larger units.

This mixer is the best. If you got the money you should deff get this!! I have the rotary version and its the best mixer i have ever used and i have been djing for over 10 years! I use my mixer every day and it has no wear or tear. If you want a bomb proof mixer with awesome sound this is the one for you. Cant go wrong with rane. I use this mixer with serato also and i love how it has 3 channels because as you all know serato takes up both line and phono inputs which leaves you stranded with no way to hook up a 3rd turntable or cd player if you want.....NOT WITH EMPATH!! A+++++++

this thing is built like a rock it was in my mixer case fell out of a two story window and works same as before and its the cheapest mixer case i could find any where that says something about this mixer only thing it lacks is some effects but i got a effects processer i've used this very heavily for the past year and a half it destroys any mixer i've ever used well worth the money for any one who is looking to buy one of these

I have had this mixer for 10 months now, and I can't imagine a better mixer. It has everything that you need and nothing you don't. People that complain that it doesn't have FX or a BPM counter should get a crappy Pioneer. This mixer is solid, looks great and sounds great. I love how the faders are rated to 2 million cycles and you can take them apart and clean them. It has a full cut EQ which is great for adding versatility to your mixes, and an FX loop that I use with my SP303. The top is Lexan over steel, so it will look great for years to come. The cueing system and the crossfader assign is very well thought out. It is about time there is a mixer that is set-up battle style that is suitable for house/dance music!

The Rane Empath's faders are so incredibly smooth, it's sick! The sound is just excellent, you can tell right away from the feel and sound that this mixer is very high quality. I guess the only downfall's are that it doesn't have a BPM counter or built-in effects... I wouldn't mind individual EQ kills either, but it's got a main EQ kill.
