Comments about Rapco Horizon CVPBLOX Variable Pad Microphone Volume Control:

Great for harp players using a vocal mic - except that you can't plug in a standard mic (ie: SM 57 or 58) - so what's the point? Will work with an Electro Voice RE-10 which has a very thin shell. Rather heavy and bulky.

Comments about Rapco Horizon CVPBLOX Variable Pad Microphone Volume Control:

When I read this wouldn't pass phantom I said great, my boards don't have phantom for each channel but by groups. I can use it to block phantom on those rare occasions when someone has a device that doesn't work with phantom. If you apply phantom to this box it gets very noisy, touching it, moving it, moving the controls, any contact sounds like a bad connection. Otherwise works great.

Comments about Rapco Horizon CVPBLOX Variable Pad Microphone Volume Control:

I play most often as a one man band. I do all my own backtracks and must do a small amount of live mixing onstage. The CVPBLOX mounts right on my keyboard and lets me fine tune a channel without searching for the right fader. It's like playing the channel with my left hand on the keys. It's just what I need.

Comments about Rapco Horizon CVPBLOX Variable Pad Microphone Volume Control:

Device works great. Smooth operation and the mute function is completely quiet. It was half the price of the other alternatives and is solidly built.

As noted in another review, this would not hook directly to my mic, an EV N/D967. I am a drummer who sings scratch vocals. I got a 12" mic cable and taped the CVPBLOX to the mic boom. It's in easy reach and is not visually noticable. It works smoothly enough that I can mute the mic while playing if necessary.

Comments about Rapco Horizon CVPBLOX Variable Pad Microphone Volume Control:

I have been trying to find and affordable volume control like this for a while, and finally found this one. The sound is great, so is the knob, but whoever built this, did not think about you having it attached to the mic.So, you will need an adapter to connect it to the mic. It doesn't look good on stage, it looks huge and bends at the end of the adapter. I'm probably gonna try to put it on a belt around my waist and see if its better. It would be perfect if you could just attach it right into the mic.
