I bought these 7 months ago for use at karaoke shows - a usage that a microphone aficionado would cringe at. I've had these mics hit the floor at every angle you can possibly concieve of on every surface from hardwood to terrazo. Pick the sucker up and keep singing. These microphones have an awesome range, absolutely NO noise, and have gone through things that would make unbelievable bar stories - and they still sound like the day I bought 'em. Snap that mic switch on and off as hard and as fast as you want and you'll never hear a peep. Need a mic that's on all the time? Just give that handy little switch screw a turn and you're done. My opinion: These are by far the most durable, best-sounding mics available for the price - or even double the price. Oh, did I mention that Sennheiser sports a lifetime warranty?What to know: These mics are very directional - unless somebody points one of these directly at a close speaker, you'll never get any feedback. However, if you're hosting a karaoke show and you've got one of those folks who just doesn't know how to point a mic in the general direction of their face, give 'em an SM58 or a cartiod condenser mic instead.

I must say that this mic is not awsome or crap!!! It's one of those mics that people who have no money rave about cuz thats what they have, I know I spend most of my life there and I must say even up to a SM58, OM-2 or any other mic its pretty much the same. There is not some huge advancement in cheap microphones, Its all about what sounds good! I have a No Name Tube condencer microphone that works better than $1000 Neumann microphones. Just making a comparison to say that there is not some huge world of differance between a 58 and this mic. They both sound fine for the price. And let's face it the mic is only good as the musician.

I tried the sm 58 and an akg mic against the sennheiser 815 through a bose tower pa, the salesman was trying to sell me the other 2 more expensive mics, but I honestly thought the 815 was a better more "open" sounding mic. then when I found out it was 1/2 the price, I walked out with a big smile on my face.I've had it for about 2 years and it cuts through music and does not seem to feed back when it "should". A great buy!!

I bought this product for my Church choir, about six months ago and they are doing really fine compare to the shure g48 that we had before. The quality and finish is great and they look stronger to take the day to day setting up and parking that necessarily occur in the day to day use.

As an Announcer, this mic is the best value for the dollar I've ever used. Solid construction with quality materials, save the plastic switch; make this mic well worth purchase. Working in a bar/club environment, this mic suffers from smoke, spilled beer, and 'wanna bees' handling the mic; the 815 has never failed. I own 12 815's, which are all over 3 years old and they work as if I just purchased them. The sound and feel make for a confident and comfortable performance time and time again.You won't be disappointed with this product.

The vocal quality is better or on par with the Shure PG48 and PG58s. Here's the kicker, they are far more durable than the Shure mics. The grill, on/off switch, and the cable connector are much better made than Shure, which has been an industry standard. I own a Karaoke Bar, Shure mics will last about 1500 to 2000 hours of use. My Sennheisers have surpassed those marks without one failing yet. They can definitely withstand the constant abuse of drunken idiots.
