Mic itself is not bad for the money, compared to my SM57, SM58, and beta 58a. How it will arrive from Musician's Friend is though. 1st Mic arrived with nothing but the mic in a used looking piece of bubble wrap. Emailed Musician's Friend support, was informed that it should not arrive that way, should come in a box, 10 year Sennheiser warranty, etc. Issue RMA and a return shipping label, I ship it back, the replacement arrives the same way. Funny I buy a Sure SM57 on sale for Seventy Two Ninety Nine, arrives in a nice box, with a pouch, a mic ring adapter, all the paperwork, warranty, and a nice sticker. I got this mic for Forty as the Stupid Deal of the Day. I am deciding to keep it as a spare due to the price but would never consider buying another Sennheiser after this experience. I will most likely not be purchasing anything from Musician's Friend again either since they did not list these as 'restock', 'B-stock', etc. I am also contacting Sennheiser as to why they would want to sell their mics this way through Musician's Friend because the MI customer support told me that "This email is to inform you that our warehouse has checked our stock of the item in question and they are shipped in a large carton but individually packaged in the pouch. I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience."

When they say individually packaged in the pouch, what they are talking about is a pouch piece of bubble wrap with a mic inside, nothing else! I am going to list this as 'No, I would not recommend this to a friend', not because the mic is terrible. How you receive it is and something fishy here from Musician's Friend, why would Sennheiser wan't any of their products being sold and shipped like this? Going to be sticking with Sweet water and other retailers from here on out since they truly value their customer's experience when purchasing an item, even if it is on sale or a one day sale. When buying anything 'Brand New', I expect it to arrive in the Manufacturer packaging, etc. Had I paid the normal price of Seventy Nine Ninety Nine for this Mic I would really not be HAPPY!

new mic

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

I recently got an akg perception 200 as a gift. This mic was included w/ it. I used it today to record some guitar tracks and other than volume it sounded almost identical to my beta 58. Nice casing and windscreen. This mic feels very comfortable in your hand.

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

This Microphone is one of the best on the market. If you want the quality of a Shure SM-58 and the durability of a tank, this is your mic. I recommend it to anybody.

For Metal Vocalists

By daniel williams

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

A must buy.
I really like this mic for metal. I'm a vocalist in a hardcore band, and I've used this mic at all my shows. It never gives feedback, and it feels great in my hand. It provides awesome body to your voice, and you can turn it on and off when you want to. I'd definetly recommend and buy this mic again.

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

I conduct Christmas Carol singalongs at various facilities and needed a good mic for male voice and one that had a good, quiet on-off switch. The 822s does all this with ease, and it is a great value as well!

Easy on the throat. [for screaming.]

By DiscordScream

from Loganville, GA

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

I use one of these in my band, I'm the screamer/frontman, and it makes my screaming sound absolutely incredible. the actual loudness of it is a bit sacrificed for the gain, but the PA we have makes up for it. My scream has actually improved from being able to hear the various spectrums of it through this mic. I'd recommend it for screaming and loud yelling vocals/ backup vocals, but not for the main SINGER of the band.

I am a licensed, professional Auctioneer. I like this new mic very much. Tried it our as soon as I got it. An auctioneer's mic must have an off and on switch. It must be rugged and light weight. It can be hand held for hours.I have other mics that cost more, but I like this one, and I think it will hold up. Has a good crisp sound.

Comments about Sennheiser e822S Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone:

I picked up a couple of these mainly for rehearsals. They are very solid and have a good handling feel. There is little handling noise with these which surprised me as well. The output of these is not very high as they had to be gained up a little higher than the EV767a's that I had been using. They almost pick up no sound from the sides so they work pretty well if having them stuck in front of some floor wedges. You do need to get right on top of them if you want any low end, I mean straight on top. Not a little from the side, but straight down on top. Meaning you won't have much sound if you try singing into them from a side angle. They do much better than the workhorse 58's though.
