My favorite Mic

Comments about Sennheiser E865 Condenser Microphone:

I've always been a Shure user, I own both the legendary SM58 and Beta 58 and never had a complaint about either. Our band hired a new live sound company for our night club gigs. He wanted me to use the Sennheiser 865 and I was reluctant to give up my Beta 58. After the first show, I finally gave in just to shut him up. It wasn't long into the first set when I began to notice the difference. I am an extended range baritone (solid bass to 2nd tenor range) and my voice never sounded better sing rock, blues, ballads and jazz standards. I managed to find lightly used Sting model of this excellent e865 mic that was used for the American Music Awards broadcast, so I got a good deal and the best mic I've ever owned.

Comments about Sennheiser E865 Condenser Microphone:

During my 40 year career as singer and musician, I've had many different microphones and I still have a few, including wireless, but this one is my #1 Stage mic! The only time I use a Super Sure 55 (for looks) is, when I do a Crooner evening (Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc.). Of course, as every experienced musician, I always carry my good old SM55 to every gig, just in case...
