Overall, when the microphone is on, it sounds really well. We us this for our church and it provides audio for video recording. It sounds very professional and is easy to use. Would I buy it again? I don't think so. I would see myself spending a little bit more on something nicer and here's why:1. There is no mute button. I would be okay with a lack of a mute button, which brings me to point 2.2. When you turn on the microphone, it generates sounds like it "surges" and has a little pop to it. I admit, I have not contacted the manufacturer, however I do have the gain fairly low.The mic is really sensitive and it sounds pretty well. I see this becoming a backup unit within a year or two, assuming it lasts that long.

Good sound, poor features
This unit needs a mute switch, the ON/OFF creates a loud pop.
The ON/OFF switch is poorly located, may be accidentally activated.
No wind screen so you can't use it...Read complete review
This unit needs a mute switch, the ON/OFF creates a loud pop.
The ON/OFF switch is poorly located, may be accidentally activated.
No wind screen so you can't use it outdoors.
Mike clip is hard to use, will probably get broken soon.
This unit would be good in a stage play where the actor has lots of time & help mounting the mike, and the sound board operator can turn it ON/OFF remotely.

Comments about Sennheiser FreePort Lavalier Wireless System:
This system has worked very well for me. Do not compare to high price units. Compare apples to apples. For a good price you get very acceptable sound quality. I use the system to amplify my Native American Flutes.
Purchase used at a great price if you can.
My only complaint is the clip on adapter. If you use it for anything other than a lavaliere you will probably need to adapt it to your needs. Don't blame Sennheiser for this...they made it to be a lavaliere mic.....Overall...I'm happy.

Comments about Sennheiser FreePort Lavalier Wireless System:
I am a part-time professional magician in addition to being a musician, and I have been looking for a wireless lavalier system to use when performing my magic show for a couple of years. I did a lot of research and planned on purchasing a Shure unit. The only problem was that I could never find a good deal on the unit I wanted, and the price never came down. Over this past Christmas season I started watching the Musician's Friend site hoping for a deal, when I came across this Sennheiser unit on sale. I recongnized the name immediately, and the price was as low as I could have asked for, so I ordered it right away. I have been very pleased with this unit. It only takes a moment to set up, the range is more than enough for my purposes, and it delivers a good sound quality.

Comments about Sennheiser FreePort Lavalier Wireless System:
Works well in my studio, VERY HAPPY with it.
I use it when recording and I am engineering or producing (I use it as a Talk-back mic so musicians can get cues from me).
I also use it when I make video presentations, enables me to walk around and talk.
And finally, when I am recording myself playing bass and guitar, I will sometimes use it (sitting still) to free myself of cables at my feet (you will need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter to plug a guitar or bass in to this).
The transmitter has a small switch that allows using with mics, or with instruments - WAY to Go!
I have done TV and Film work, and also performed live enough times that I am used to being wired up.
Sennheiser makes good stuff - VERY HAPPY!

Comments about Sennheiser FreePort Lavalier Wireless System:
Decent system at a mid-level price. The range and signal is pretty solid and the set up is easy with the flexibility of 4 channels. The only cons would be the lapel pack could be more sturdy and the addition of a mute button would be a significant improvement.

Cons
- Belt clip

Comments about Sennheiser FreePort Lavalier Wireless System:
For the price I paid this is excellent equipment. It was a STUPID DEAL. I teach PE and use it with my sound system for instruction. The lapel mic is not useful at all, you will need a headset mic to go with it. GREAT reception through walls. The belt clip is not useful if you are jumping around alot.
