A dynamic harmonica mic with a robust, warm tone.

This is the original Shaker with XLR output. It broke all the rules 22 years ago and is still giving harp players a big wall of sound in a smaller, easier-to-cup blues tool. Designed for harp players seeking huge, fat tone and strong harmonic content with almost no feedback.

The volume control has 11 micro-detents, or clicks, that tells the player where his or hers mic volume is set at, giving the harp player a point of reference and control of their sound.

All Shaker mics are designed as hybrid units, which means they utilize dynamic low-z elements wired like a guitar in high-z mode. Plug any Shaker directly into any amp and it works awesome with great tone, response and dynamics (The Shaker Sound).

If you use a Shaker mic with an impedance-matching transformer into the input of your amp, your Shaker mic becomes super charged, driving your amp into aural overdrive. All Shaker harmonica microphones are really two very different units in one. Direct to amp has the traditional Shaker tone and response. Used with a line-matching transformer: high output, hot and driven. Maximum flexibility, it’s your choice.

Comments about Shaker Dynamic XLR Harmonica Microphone:

Pass this by. The combination of low output, no high end frequency response, and propensity to feed back even when standing far away from the amp is a killer. Good luck soloing at any volume. If you EQ to avoid feedback, it'll even have less punch. At bar playing volumes it will feed back unless you're in a high-ceiling room.

Comments about Shaker Dynamic XLR Harmonica Microphone:

Harp is a 3rd instrument for me and I havent used this mic on stage. I simply cant handle my bullet... too heavy and the size makes it difficult to create a 'pocket' and manipulate my fingers. Same with the Shure 58 (I will probably p/u a Shure 57 at some point). The SHAKER DYNAMIC is perfect for my hands and I can manipulate my hand/fingers easily while holding the mic! I am able to manipulate the sound very well with a small full-featured modeling amp, hence I can continue to use my own style of acoustic harp with this mic. I can get a great dirty sound as well. Again I dont know about on stage but at 'abnormal' volumes the feedback is very controllable.... so for MY purposes this mic is awesome, right here, right now.
