Shaker's most economical crystal-element harp mic to date.

The Shaker WSB has been designed to be Shaker's most affordable crystal microphone, voiced specifically for harmonicas. It's a great blues tool, hard-wired with a 10-foot cable and a 1/4" plug, and it can even act as a great back up mic. It's a great beginner mic that's easy on the wallet, yet gives professional performance and awesome tone, along with great feedback rejection. The mic is extremely economical, has hot crystal element, is voiced to cut through other sounds, has a clear and aggressive tone, and is ergonomically designed to be very easy to hold.

Shaker Harmonica Microphones are part of a sophisticated music making system, one that includes the harmonica, the player's hands, the microphone, the amp, and the player's personal techniques. Traditional methods of measuring response and behavior become pretty much irrelevant because Shaker's don't fit strictly into the established categories of polar patterns. By using a sampling of the harmonica's sound and directing it through acoustic ports into a volume-tuned chamber, Shaker mics become, in essence, miniature hand-held recording studios. This is known as Shaker GNS technology, or good noise sampling, resulting in great tone, extreme technique sensitivity, and tremendous feedback. Designed and engineered by Shakey Joe, these mics are totally handmade in the US and use as many American-made parts as possible, making Shaker microphones the real deal. Made in the Arizona desert by harp players, for harp players.

    mic feedback

    By Sylvia Jones

Comments about Shaker WSB Harmonica Microphone:

It may be my amp giving me the problems I stated above. (I use a Peavey Vypyr and a Transtube 258.) I also tried plugging my preamp into the aux input with fairly good results however I have no tone control with this input. I have a foot volume on my amp so no volume on the mic does not matter to me. Overall I like the feel of this mic when using it with my harmonicas.
Straight into amp I get a line noise and feedback if I try to turn volume up.
Using with a tube mic preamp seems to work a lot better.

I expected more out of it....

Comments about Shaker WSB Harmonica Microphone:

I bought this mic, DE-1 Dan-Echo pedal and a Pignose thinking this would be a good combo to practice with. When I plugged it in I stared to get a lot of feed back so I couldn't really crank it up. We all know that the Pignose is loud but with the WSB mic I was getting to much feedback so I couldn't get that real dirty sound. But when I plugged in my cheap RadioShack Dynamic mic I was getting a much better sound with a good bottom end and very low feedback. I'm not saying the my RadioShack mic is better then the WSB but maybe with a better amp it might work better. How knows.
