    The Shure M44-7H scratch cartridge with headshell is engineered for skratch DJs and turntablists. It won't skip under even the most demanding circumstances! An exact replication of the original, this legendary Shure turntable needle offers ultrahigh skip resistance and output. The M44-7H is the cartridge of choice for many champion DJs worldwide, including The Invisibl Skratch Piklz, X-ecutioners, and Beat Junkies. Combining Shure's unique wide-diameter Type S cantilever with a tracking force of 1-1/2 to 3 grams, the Shure M44-7 DJ cartridge's rugged construction is highly durable, but will not unduly wear your vinyl. With a 9-1/2mV output -- the highest on the market -- the Shure M44-7H is a turntable cartridge that produces very powerful, resonant sound.

    Excellent for scratch and mix

    I've been a Ortofon fan for years, used a pair of DJS concorde editions with no skips or tracking problems. After a long break from dj'ing I brought out my turntables and my old Ortofons just didn't sound that great any more. Everyone said the M44-7 where great so I tried them out. I honestly didn't like headshell carts after a bad experience with old Stanton 680EL's but for the price gave it a chance. Honestly, I can say these are really nice sounding needles. Lots of good lows but not so much they muddy up the mix. Also the track well but require less weight then my old Ortofons. I track at 3 grams, 2 tonearm height and 0 skate with no skips. Also note, that these will move allot when scratching, it's normal and everyone I talked to has the same experience.

    Best battle cartridge

    This is the absolute best cartridge made for scratch or battle DJ's. I have OM pros, & even the pink/red concorde S but none stick to the record like this cartridge. Turn cartridge at an angle on the headshell (if you have 1200 style S arm) - You'll know you have it correct when the wobble is totally gone! They work better if you don't push the end weight all the way to the front. I did some extreme testing bewteen top cartridges for scratching, and one other was close, but this outperformed them all in the end.
