The sound recorded from the mic is below average at best.
It's well made and could withstand years of use, but the audio it produces sounds congested, like everyone that uses it has a sinus problem.
I wouldn't recommend for home recording, as the XLR to 1/4 adapter is a mono, for home recordings, you'd want a stereo.

These are the only mics I will use in my Karaoke/DJ business. Drop them and they bounce...the screens get dented but they still have great sound. They are truly the workhorse of my industry!

I received this mic for a birthday gift not too long ago, and I must say, it blew my expectations out of the water! For $40 youre getting a mic that can just about do it all. Ive got a basic home studio and Ive used it for recording vocals, guitar, bass and even as an overhead for drums! Granted, there are better mics out there for recording instruments, but this does the job if youre looking to do a basic, cheap recording. The built in pop-filter is also very nice when recording vocals

I am a very serious guitar player, and I have been using kareoke machine mics up until now. I was looking for a specifically cheap mic (under 50) and i needed a mic with one of the ends in the 1/4 inch format. when i found this, it fit perfectly into my guitar amp, and it was awesome. the case that comes with it might seem stupid, but DON'T throw it away. I had my mic in that bag, and there was a water spill on all my cables. The mic was the only electronic thing to survive. Plus, the case was intact.If you're a guitarist who just wants a beginner practice mic, this is PERFECT.
