The quality has been great have used 3 of them for 4 months straight with 2 hours a day of use and no issues. The most issue I had is people forgetting to turn the switch back on. These have been dropped sevral times and still work well.
Value has been great, 3 of them were bought for a camp to replace a mix of old off brand mics that were very damaged. After 4 months of use and abuse by camp counslers with little audio experiecne and not issues yet. Much more practical for a camp than SM58's for due to the price.

I bought 3 of these for use at an Open Mic night that I run. However, after 4 months all 3 three have crapped out. The worst part is that they only got used one night a week. Basically what it boils down to is each mic has less 60 hours on it and I'm already looking for replacements. Shure usually makes great stuff in the lower price range. These however, were very harsh sounding and no matter what I did just could not be very dialed in. Pass on these they're sub par at best.

I bought this mic at a local music store because the drummer in my band kept on complaining that we all need our own equipment. So I bought it figuring ok I'll tape it up and a couple months out of it. But now I've had it for about 3 months and its still running strong, I sing through a samson s9 at my church and used to sing through a Sennheiser e825S when my band practiced. This mic sounds almost as good, obviously there are gonna be some things better about more expensive mics and now i wish i would have bought the pg-58 but oh well I got a nice mic for the price. Me and the ruthm guitarist in my band also do some acoustic stuff and I used this for my vocal and it sounded very proffesional, this is a highly recomened mic!

well dont expect a superb quality mic at this price range, its a elly good mic for vocals applications, drums and stuff like that, you cant compare it to a sm58 but its a bargain for the price, i use it as my talkback mic into my studio and orks nice with the switch, i have 2 mics and theyre great. i also have a sennheiser e 838 and its awesome for vocals, so if you want a nice sounding bullet proof mic this is it..even if it fails its only 40 bucks!

The drummer in my band has one of these. Its a decent backup vocal mic. One problem I have with it is that the shape of the barrel makes it prone to slipping out of the mic clip easily. Our bass player has a cheapo Nady SP4 that I think is just as good sounding, doesn't have the slippage problem and cost 1/4th the price.

I bought one of these mics 3 or 4 years ago and it's still going strong. It's very good for backing vocals, I've also mic'd guitars and drums with it for demos, and it captures sound very well. Worth the cash for sure.

I bought this microphone in a local music shop with christmas money, and as soon as I got home, I plugged it into a dean 10-watt guitar amp and it still sounded great. I can only imagine how good it will sound through a real P.A. system. It holds up well at band practices, and sounds great on recording. I have recorded Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano, and vocals with the PG48, and the sound is almost studio quality, if you tweak things just right. I'm proud to call myself an owner of an authentic Shure PG48 Microphone.
Comments about Shure PG48-XLR Microphone with Switch:
It's a sturdy little mic for the money. A bit mushy in the low mids for my liking for a vocal mic, but you won't find top-end pro performance at this price anyway. As a utility mic, it will handle just about anything a rock band might use it for, so it's a good low-cost option for an "extra mic". Just don't expect crazy-good performance.
Comments about Shure PG48-XLR Microphone with Switch:
This mic isn't drastically better or worse then any other regular mic in live applications. It is pretty good for recording vocals in recordings if you don't have phantom power, that's all I use it for.
