Comments about Shure PG58-LC Cardioid Dynamic Handheld Microphone:

As a working KJ for some 7 years and 350 shows, I use a full array of Shure mics. Including the SM58 (both corded and cordless), SM58 Beta, and the PG58. I use the PG58 as it has the on/off switch so when I announce singers I can just flick it on and go. I also sing through it all the time, and it sounds great. All and all it?s been a great mic, and has held up to the weekly abuse very well. While it?s not quite as crisp as the SM58, at almost half the price it?s still a very good mic.

Comments about Shure PG58-LC Cardioid Dynamic Handheld Microphone:

I just started getting back into music again after a 15 year break. Most of my old gear needed replacing. I had an old 80s model shure and wanted a new one without going full throttle. I opted for the PG58. Nice choice. Great sound, warm and clear. My kids used it the night I got it for a karaoke mic plugged into my 120 watt PA system. I think it will work great on stage. Some handling noise but not bad. I play guitar so it will be mounted on a stand when I'm using it. Almost impossible to make it feed back. Have to have it right in front of the speakers. And we had the PA up pretty loud. Don't want to spend the extra 40 on the SM model..dont, the PG is a good quality, sensative mic. Works great at about 12 to 18 inches away from your face. Dont have to swallow it to get a response. Go ahead and get the wind screen cover. Its sensitive and picks up the Ps and Bs Puhs and Buhs pretty easy. Nothing a foam cover won't stop.
